Default Just been prescribed Met - when to take?

My doctor prescribed me Met yesterday, and I'm so excited - I've been wanting it for ages!! Took the first doses yesterday, no side effects that I can tell. I'm on 1000mg to start with, and will probably be increased in a few months' time.

My question is this... because I don't eat in the evenings, my last meal of the day is at noon. Should I therefore take it with breakfast and lunch, or should I take it on an empty stomach in the evening?

I took it on empty last night, and had no side effects, but I wonder which is more important - to have an even space between doses, or to take it with meals.

Thanks!

I'm just curious as to why you don't eat after noon? Sorry if i'm snooping it just seems a bit odd to me. I know my nutrionist told me to eat multiple small meals through out the day and try not to eat after 8pm. I guess I would also ask when your doctor recommended that you take it. mine told me to take it with breakfast and supper. I however dont eat at the same time each day but I do take my met at the same time each day. I just have snack with it. Good for you on not getting any side effects! they aren't fun in the least.

Hi Shadow, it's because I eat Fast-5 (the link is fast-5 dot com), that means I only eat for 5 hours in a day (and I have chosen that to be the morning hours) works great for me!

Thanks for the input, and thanks Kara - that's reassuring, I'll just take it with meals then, breakfast and lunch. Great!
