My doctor told me that the average woman has a testorone level of 30 and an average woman with pcos has a level of 60. I just had mine checked and mine is 97. Ladies what is your testorone levels?
is it our testorone levels that are responsible for excess hair? my hair seems to be getting worse and worse esp since taking fertility injections. is there anything to reduce the testorone levels and excess hair. i cant take any meds as im ttc but hoping to take something wen im finished ttc to try and reduce it. when i first got checked for pcos they did say my testorone levels were higher than normal, but i had so much to take in i never really questioned it at the time. i did loss 20 lbs but it never reduced hair or anything but made my periods a bit more regular.

My problem is total free % testosterone. My total is only 30. My free % is about 3 whereas it should be .5-1.3% or something around there. My doc told me that is what is causing my problem more than the total!

when mine was checked for the first time back in december it was 6.3 and normal is<4.0 I had it checked again after 1 month of met at 500mg and it had risen to 7.4.....I see my obgyn on thursday and i think i am gonna get him to check everything again.....i think some of the levels have droped as i finally o'd........and some of the hair growth has slowed down...which is nice...LOL but i am lucky and it really isn't too bad....my big toe and around my belly button. Now mind you my leg and armpit hair grows exceptionally fast 8o(...ohh and i guess i have a bit of a moustash...but its pretty lite and fine baby hair like....
Mine was obsurdly low... in the single digits if I remember right.. which reallu confused me at the time.. problem was.. it was almost all free testosterone.. it's odd.. such low testosterone and yet.. I'm so hairy.. what the hell is that all about?

The first, and only, time mine was checked was in 04 and it was 66. The Dr. told me that all my levels in the labs were normal but wanted me be put on meds anyway w/o explination.
Purple monkfish - I'm just like you...Last time, 2 weeks ago, my testosterone level was only 15!! But my Free testosterone (which is the test. roaming around free in your blood, unable to connect with free proteins for whatever reason) was high. It's always high. I can't seem to get it down. As a result, I only have 1 or 2 chin hairs, lower abdomen hair, coarse lower back hair, and VERY VERY coarse leg hair that grows in 2 hours after I shave. <---I think the last one is more annoying than the facial hair! It takes a long time to shave my legs and it's so frustrating that it comes back almost immediatly after!
