I was diagnosed 2 days ago and I'm very depressed. We've been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half and just found out why we havent been successful. Just feel I'm never going to be able to concieve. That and the abnormal hair growth..............ugh. The high glucose and weight gain I can take I've been slightly heavy all my life so that I'm used to but the hair growth has to go. Guess I'm just venting.
I feel for ya. Please...PLEASE...look into a low-carb or IR diet. Trust me, if you do this and get into a regular exercise routine, it will help tremendously! Take some cinnamon capsules-they regulate my sugar levels and for this reason, I'm not as limited on my food choices and I have lost more weight. PM me if you have any ?'s.
Hey. Im new too... I just wanted to say hang in there! Diagnosis is hard to take, but it's also the moment that it goes from PCOS controlling you, to you controlling it. Ive not had a natural AF in 10 years hon, and after 4 weeks on the Low GI diet, exercising every day and eating every 3 hours, they've just come back - all normal. I nearly fell over. LOL!! so indulge in the self pity for a while (very important part of coming to terms IMHO) then take charge!! There are some incredible women and stories here from what Ive seen and they've inspired me no end...

The Dx is hard but you have come to the right place.....we all know and understand how you feel so know that you are not alone!!!
As for the TTC....I felt the same way when my DR said PCOS....but there are things that can be done and with them you can have great success with TTC....
I know its hard to keep thinking positive (as if there is anything positive about it) but at least now you know and now you can do something about it!!!
Before I was DX-ed I had never heard PCOS nor had any clue what it meant or involved...
I would recommend finding a good Dr who knows about PCOS and kinda lay out a plan(so to speak) with them to reach your goal of TTC...
Good Luck and keep us posted

I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago. It is very depressing - I'm 30 yrs old and been married almost 3 yrs - this news is treacherous. Hang in there - I have to see some specialists but hope that I can do this without taking a bunch of pills - the low carb/low sugar book called: Sugar Busters has great recipes and looks kind of easy to follow - I have not followed it yet, I love food and didn't want to deprive myself of certain kinds - unfortunately, my acne is really bad and I think the low carb/low sugar diet would help me there, I learned that too many carbs and sugar bring out acne. Good luck, you are not alone.
