Hello All!
Just diagnosed with PCOS and quite confused. Never heard of this until a couple weeks ago but am pleasantly surprised as to the support accessible through this site.
Where do you start? How do you not feel overwhelmed?
Hi and welcome to SC. You can't help but feel overwhelmed. But the cysters here are really helpful. I was only diagnosed last september but with the advice from the ladies here I have already learned a lot. Especially on how to control my weight. If you ever need to talk just pm me.
Use this site all you can, when you need a friend, advice, information. You will see you have a million friends now, and everyone has felt the same way you do. I've only been diagnosed 2 weeks, so I know how you feel. Even though I was familiar with what was probably wrong with me, I have learned so much on here. PM me anytime if you need a friend, and remember that you have cleared a giant hurdle just getting diagnosed!

Any good book suggestions or reference points for me and/or family members to better understand PCOS?
There is a book you can download from this site that I've heard a lot of good things about. It's about 15 bucks and you get free updates for a year. I would look on the front page ffor the message boards for it, thats where I think I saw the ad. Good Luck!
Welcome and it is hard not to feel overwhelmed! However this site is wonderful! I was just dx too after four years of symptoms and my doctor was amazed how much I had learned from this site. (she even asked for the address os she could check it out!) I did just hear about a book about IR diets that I might check out if I find the name of it I will keep you updated!
