Just last year I found out I had the diease and I ended up dropping 60 pounds, but when I came back for a check up /from 1st year college for spring break/ I gained like 20 back, and I was eating salads for every meal and it feels so dicouraging. I don't know what to do or what to eat and I'm scared to put all the weight back on. I know I need to start eating 3 meals and excersizing but I don't have a clue to which of the millions of diets to follow.
Brandee - Sorry you are depressed. Losing weight is REALLY hard. I have been working out for over 2 months and haven't lost a single inch or pound! Ugh! Salads aren't necessarily the key. You need to find a good diet that you like and can stick with and couple that with some exercise (sorry). Actually, you should eat 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. I have heard that we need to keep the calories flowing to help lose. Not LOTS of calories, just something every few hours. There are some REALLY good people here. I hope you find a thread you like and find some friends and encouragement. It's not a death sentence. You will find an answer. Just start searching for a thread, jump in and go!
Good luck!

Brandee, why don't you try the Insulin-Resistance diet, a lot of SC members seem to like this one. There is a book on it. I just bought so I'm currently trying to learn the habits. Take a look, it may be helpful. I'm finding it interesting so far. I agree with Elizabeth you must eat frequent small meals. This book will explain why and how we store fat and how we can lose it. i hope I've helped. ((((Brandee))))
