After trolling your forums for two days, I figured I should just register and introduce myself since I'm here so much. I was diagnosed last week with PCOS while at the doctor because of a pregnancy false alarm. I have a 19 month old son, that was conceived while I was still taking BCP. (I will always remember now that antibiotics and BCP do not mix!!) Prior to having my son I had been on BCP for 7 years, so my PCOS symptoms must of been hushed a bit. The more I research the more I realize that I've had it for as long as I can remember, just didn't know it. I am also on information overload right now, hence feeling overwhelmed. I have forbidden myself from reading anything else about it until my next doctor's appointment this Friday! We are TTC but it is rather difficult to do that if I'm not O'ing. Doc will be putting me on metformin as long as a pregnancy test come back negative again (I haven't had a visit from AF since May). Nice to meet you all!
Fight, when everything seems to be set against you keep fighting. You will succeed, in body, mind and spirit. Others will try to crush you, but they will only succeed if you let them.

2003 - Diagnosed and put on Diannette tablets (for bad skin and periods)
2007 - YASMIN tablets (similar reasons but less risk tablets)
Being quite a newcomer to the site I have found it a breath of fresh air to read and chat on this site. I'm sure you will too. Hope the docs goes well! I started Metformin a week ago - so far ok but no AF yet (boo). TTC since Jan 06 but really just keen to get regular menses and feel well again.
Blessed with a hectic 3 year old - Tom! So trying not to stress about it and sit tight for the BFP!!!
Morning to you Lush!
I've just moved from Nottingham to Kent - Can't praise the City hospital enough for attentive treatment and understanding when I thought I was going mad with symptoms!!
Welcome, and good luck with the metformin! I'm on metformin-only TTC right now, and I think I may have O'ed around cd 26 or27 according to FF where I'm charting. It'd be my first O on metformin alone without clomid/femara to bring it on. Crossing my fingers for you too!
Hiya, ive had it for years to but only officially dx 2006, i found natural progesterone cream, which i used for 25 day then stopped and saw af. since that time af has been every month and that was in 2002 a self help thing.. there are lots on the market, but i found serenty to be best quality for me.
Actually just reading the FAQ's and other cysters' posts have been a huge comfort to me. Thankfully, I have managed to get past the overwhelmed part. Reading what other people are going through was a big help. My blood test results were supposed to be yesterday, but I didn't hear from the doctor. I'm assuming they didn't show up, he would of called if they had. I haven't started the metformin yet. Hopefully the results will be in today so I can start tomorrow. I have come to the realization that focusing on ttc is going to make me lose what is left of my sanity. My 19 month old stole some it it!! Instead I am going to focus on staying on the weight loss bandwagon. I've been jumping on and off since March. Hopefully, that will keep me from obsessing over TTC #2. I'm a SAHM, so it's not hard for me to over focus on something. I have way to much time to think!!
