I have had my first ultrasound last month and was diagnosed with PCOS. I have had no regular symptoms other than a pain in my lower left quadrant, weight gain, and constipation. My periods have been regular my entire life no irregular hair problems.
I am just wondering does any one else have only these symptoms?
Every doctor is different about what severity of symptoms/findings he or she will diagnose PCOS at. There is a quiz about symptoms here: PCOS Quiz
The problem is there isn't a definitive test for PCOS, and even if there was, symptoms and manifestations of the syndrome differ greatly from person to person.
My diagnosis still isn't set it stone, though your doc might call it for me if he/she went off my ultrasound findings alone like yours did. Your symptoms don't match mine, but I'm guessing someone here has just the ultrasound and weight gain, though it's possible you don't really have it. Most cysters seem to have totally wacky periods. Sorry you have to be here, but welcome!

When I was 1st diagnosed, the only symptoms I had were pain and weight gain, plus the classic u/s picture for PCOs.
I hope it doesn't go the same way for you, but I developed more and more symptoms. When I was diagnosed, I had been on depo provera for about 17 months. Although I blame it for causing/triggering PCOS, I think it was also covering up a lot of the symptoms. As it wore off, more symptoms reared their ugly heads.
HI
I was diagnosed in Oct and the symptoms i have are cysts on the ovaries, and insulin resistance. Also a couple of things that i think are related to pcos which are spotting before AF, being hungry and tired and infertility.
Oh and I have painful ovulation too.
I just hope my symptoms dont get worse. Im not overweight and have lost a little weight since low carbing.
Hopefully i will conceive now that im trying to keep my insulin levels down.
Hi, I don't have very many symptoms either...slightly elevated testosterone levels (but only very mild acne as a result, but not any extra hair), some spotting before AF, and cysts of course. I have always, always had very regular AF and I am not overweight. Supposedly there are about four or five different kinds of PCOS and the syndrome is a continuum...meaning the way the symptoms manifest themselves is different for each person.
Good luck!
