Unhappy Just diagnosed with PCOS today--Would love to meet some fellow soulcysters

So my hubby and I just came decided that we would start trying for a baby so I made an appointment with my gyno and just today I received the call that I had PCOS. So next week I have an appointment to see the fertility specialist at my gyno's office. Im 23 and healthy (Other than having PCOS). I read that losing weight could help conceive naturally which I would really like to do. I am a little fluffy (chunky) But nothing a little exercise can't fix. So I would love to make some new friends and hear your stories.

I'm Tasha btw from Dallas

Hi Tasha! I'm Kristen from Orlando. I'm 32, was diagnosed at 19. I've never been in a relationship of any sort, so never tried to have a baby, but I've known since 19 that I might be infertile. I was a lurker on this site for at least a year before finally deciding to join up in January. Boy, I wish I hadn't waited so long!
It's a hard road, but this website has been a Godsend as far as helping me cope and get over my PCOS issues/insecurity.

Default Welcome!!!!!!!!!

welcome! Sorry about the DX but glad you got an early DX. I'm 26 and was just DX about 6 months ago. I myself have battled with the symptoms of PCOS for over 10 years and finally got dx this year because of my IF.

I know you must be a little nervous, but try to take it one step at a time. I pray your appt with the specialist goes well. They might put you on clomid (a med to make you ovulate). I suggest that you research PCOS extensively so you can ask all the questions while your there. Don't be afraid to ask questions about the meds they will be trying also.

Will be praying for you and your journey. If you ever wanna chat you can PM me.

Take care!

Hi Tasha & Welcome!!
Props to you girl for doing the excerise thing!!! I have tried so many times and have failed. Right now I am trying to work on my eating habits. I know that being really busy is no excuse!! Keep us posted how you do!!

My husband and I are TTC going on 6 months now. I am working with my doctor on deciding what our best option is. Man, I wish I could turn my PCOS around by excerising and losing all this unwanted weight....it is soooo very hard!!!

Keep up the great attitude and welcome again!!

Tasha,

Looks like you and I were diagnosed on the same day. My husband and I have been TTC for a few years, and a doctor just now picked up on the PCOS. I too have to lose weight and am working on the eating habits and trying to start walking more. I too am fluffy and have been for some time, but as time progresses I seem to get fluffier and couldn't figure out why. Now I know why. I am looking forward to getting myself healthy and having the baby I have been dreaming of. Babydust to you!

Welcome of course, and glad to see so many viewing and those of us responding to your post. I was simply diagnosed after spending many months off BCPs to give my body a break and coming up with a long list of body symptoms.... and of course no AF. By the way, check the sticky things to get a good list of common abbreviations - they are all over SoulCysters but as many have said, I'll always wish I found this site even sooner than I did - and being here - us all being here - makes us all so supportive of each other and sometimes smarter than our docs .
