Default Just Diagnosed.. Question abt natural options.

I was diagnosed this month with PCOS. I knew I had it for quite a while, but because of Med Ins issues and such never had anything done about it. My symptoms (in case anyone wants to know) include:

Irregular - no menstral cycle. (I haven't had a period in 2 1/2 years till just this month).

Infertility. (When I was younger I wasted tons of money on Condoms. LOL ah well. I prob would have gotten pg when I didn't want to if I didn't take the steps to prevent it. Now that I want to get Prego i can't. Go fig.)

Facial hair and hair on my toes. Its VERY light, just a few stray dark hairs here and there. I consider myself very blessed.

Obesity. I'm nearly 300 lbs. This causes (in my opinion) the sharp pain I've dealt with for years in my shoulder, and back pains. Light depression as well. Though I CHOOSE to be happy with who I am. Its hard at times.

Painful sex. And no one ever talks about this on the internet as far as I can tell, but I've heard this is a symptom as well. Its not very bad, and doesn't stop me from having sex with my hubby, but anything out of the normal missionary position will be painful to me, and not at all pleasant.

My real concern is this: I can't trust any Dr to really know what's good for me. I need to make sure I know all that I can about my condition so that I can take the best care of myself. With a Dr's help of course, but I won't be relying on him/her all the way. Are there any natural things I can take/do that will lessen the symptoms, and risks of PCOS?

The Dr wants to put me on Birth Control, but I'd like to TTC. I understand that getting myself fixed first will help with a better chance at conceiving and a more healthy pregnancy. However I wonder if there is something I can do instead that won't suppress the ovaries?

And he wants me to loose weight. I've tried the weight thing, and it never works out. I can maintain... usually, but every time I try to diet or work out, nothing ever is achieved. I don't go down in weight at all. I've never tried extra stuff, like weight loss pills, as I don't trust these. But perhaps, there's something? I feel like I need an extra push somewhere. Money is tight, and this doesn't help of course. The right kinds of foods and a trainer are outrageous. I do feel that I don't know the first thing about being healthy though. I need the education, or training. It's like a toy store, and I don't know where to start. So I stand at the door and look in and never go anywhere.

How do you girls feel about Natural programs in lieu of the normal BCPs and Metformin etc etc etc?
