How much did your dr start you on? Normally it is better to start on a lower dose and work up, allowing your body to adjust. Since it sounds like you are having more then just bm problems I would suggest calling your dr as soon as possible. In the meantime these suggestions may help. It took me over a month to get adjusted to Met, but I am feeling much better. That is as long as I stick to the suggestion below. Otherwise I pay.

1- Take it at the same time everyday
2- Ask your doctor about taking an extended release version or taking
two smaller doses at separate times
3- Take it with a spoonful of peanut butter
4- Avoid leafy and "watery" vegetables such as lettuce and celery
5- Take it during the middle of the meal so that there is food around
it to "cushion" it
6- Take it with a calcium supplement or a large glass of milk
7- Eat yogurt daily
8- Avoid extremely high fat foods and greasy foods
9- Avoid alcohol
10- Keep hydrated
11- Increase your fiber intake

Thank you! Yes, I called my endo he said met wouldn't cause these problems & to take both 500 mg's together in am so I would have it out of my system at night. I called my pharmacist He said all these signs were my body couldn't tolerate meds & call my dr. asap to stop med & get new rx. So I called endo bachk & he said "if you want to believe a pharmacist who doesn't see patients or do lab/clinic work then stop taking the met... there is another rx but it is not going to help with your weight as a matter of fact it is going to make it worse"

oh.. and I did start 1x 500mg first week then 2x am & pm 500 mg each at first. I just was Hoping this was going to be it my small miracle. I am trying to get pregnant just live without pain, pms, weight gain when I am at the gym 4 days a week & eating low carb, and all the other problems these are just my top 3 peeves.
I had started the vitamins & progesterin creme from womentowomen.com (while waiting for my diagnosis which came as a shock never heard of this before I thought it was my thyroid or perimenopause) Started feeling great after just 3 weeks. started met felt less & less great each day but assumed after 3 1/2 weks iI would start getting used to it or my body would. I don't know if the natural approch was helping with the Insulin resisance or not but it seemed to shorten the length & strength of the bleeding. I am scared truely frightened of diabetes I had gestational & my mother is a wreck from diabetes. She almost lost her foot. Has lost her life savings no insurance several hospital stays gigantic awful looking holes in her leg wheel chairs walkers etc.. Thats why i started getting in shape low carb then added gym mean while my body went hey wire. Nothing feels worse then finally getting your act together & change your lifestyle & mean while your hormones are all over the map.
I want to be healthy for me & my kids I want to be there for all thier accomplishments. I can't afford any mistakes I have to do this correctly & get it under control. But at the same time I would rther be FAt then tired sore & exhausted! thanks for listening........
