Default Just diagnosed today

Hi-
I was dx with PCOS today. My symptoms are no period, acne, extremely high levels of testosterone, weird hair growing everywhere except my head (the one place I actually WANT it!!) and hair loss on my head. At this stage in my life I am not trying to get pg, so the worst part for me is losing my hair. It literally comes out in clumps- when I shower, blowdry, curl, brush, anything
I know it probably sounds superficial, but it makes me so sad and self conscious to have bad skin, balding hair, and more.

The endocrinologist I saw is going to put me on Yaz, then in a month put me on spironolactone (?). I'm sure others on this site have tried these meds- can anyone let me know how they work, or if there are other meds you've tried that work better to help hair stay put? I just want to cry when I look at myself, and from what I've been reading on this site and others, things only get worse from here.

I would love to here from anyone!
J

Hi. I was diagnosed about a month ago, so still trying to learn as much about it as possible myself. Really sorry to hear about your hair loss. My biggest issue has been acne. And my new concern is whether or not I'll be able to have kids. I've seen quite a few posts from women who do have kids though, so makes me believe there's hope. Sorry I can't be very helpful, but thought you'd appreciate a response.

Chica,

I hope what worked for me will work for you. Finasteride worked great for my hair loss, but you have to be pre-menopausal to have it be effective. Flutamide is awesome for clearing up the skin,
