Howdy y'all. My names Miranda and I'm 23. My hubby just joined the USAF and leaves at the begining of May. I had been pretty regular with my periods for almost a year (after 11 years of NOT being regular) and all of a sudden they stopped. I was so excited, thought I was pregnant and went to the docs. They did an ultrasound and there was nothing there but my cysty-ovaries. He counted 15 on each. I've been reading a bit on it and I have an appointment this coming Friday with the doc to talk about fertility treatments. Anyone have any advice on what I should ask about for meds or anything?? Thanks!
Welcome to SC!!!
To answer your question, I took Metformin (aka Glucophage) and got preg twice and that is what worked for me. I am sure you will get lots of great advice on here form the other ladies.
I was in a similar situation to you. My periods stopped at age 19. I began fertility treatments at age 22. At first I took metformin and progesterone. That brought on my periods, but during my follicle checks I did not have very many viable follicles. We added Clomid and later injectables, some cycles follistem, some repronex. In the end when I went on the Atkins diet, that enabled me to get pregnant and carry the baby without m/c. I did need to suppliment with progesterone. Visit my website if you want to read my whole story. It's www.mypcosbaby.com.
Hi, I'm also new to the board and ttc. My doctor put me on clomid. I was dx with pcos about 3 years ago. I was on glucophage XR, but had to stop due to the side effects. I may be able to answer a few questions, but you should check out the ttc board here. lots of good info posted there. Good luck with ttc.
