Hey ladies. I was just diagnosed with PCOS yesterday. I've been off the pill for almost an entire year and immediately started charting. In July I went in for my annual and made mention tomy doc that I had very irregular cycles. He threw me on clomid. I didn't take it my next cycle because just by chance the cycle that I had my annual was 30 days long, my shortest! So I thought I was finally regulating, boy was I wrong. My next cycle was 74 days long! I finally managed to O on CD 62.
After that cycle was over I decided to go on Clomid, 50 mg CD 2-6. About 2 weeks ago I had awful O pains mainly on my right side. I was worried that I was having cysts with clomid. Since I was unmonitored I called up my ob/gyn. They had me come in. The doc insisted that I had O pains and that I definitely had ovulated. He wanted me back in a week for an ultrasound and pg test. That was this past Friday. When I had them draw my blood for the pg test I made sure that they tested my progesterone levels since that would truely tell them that I haven't O'd yet. The nurse gave me an attitude about it but finally agreed to do it.
Well I went in for my follow-up yesterday with my ob/gyn for all of my results. He went over the labwork first and immediately said I haven't ovulated yet. Go figure! My progesterone was at 0.6 on CD 27 which is pretty darn low. Then he looked at the u/s and said that I have PCOS. I had 18 cysts on my right ovary and 15 on my left. He immediately referred me to an RE and I have an appointment set up on the 21st. I'm so glad to finally have a diagnosis, just now anxiously awaiting to find out what kind of treatment the RE recommends for me.
I'm sure this site is going to be so helpful for me on this journey.

You will find that these women on here are awesome. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. If they can't share with you what worked for them, they try to point you in the right direction. I hope things work out for you. A little piece of advice that helped me, there is an overwhelming amount of information out there regarding PCOS, make a list of all the questions you want to ask the dr. That way your prepared when you go in for your visit. I even printed off articles and made notes. (of course I may be a little anal) But it does help.
Welcome cyster and keep us posted of how it goes for you!!
