Unhappy Just diagonosed with hypo, now neck is swollen after starting meds! Help please

I was diagonosed with hypothyroidism on Tuesday and started taking 75mcg of Levoxyl. I woke up tonight (friday) and my neck is totally swollen on both sides and feels slightly tight. I can feel a very distinctive lump on both sides. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with me?? Is it my body getting too much medicine?? Of course tomorrow is Saturday so I can't get an appointment with my doctor! ugh! Has anyone else experianced this? Maybe I should just quit taking the med until Monday.

Unhappy

Rosie,
Have you spoke with your Doctor about this? Also do a search on side effects of Levoxyl?

Please let us know how you are doing?

Default Thank you Michelle

Michelle,
I called and spoke with the doctor on call. She thinks I am having an allergic reaction to the med. She told me to stop taking them and call the office on Monday for an appointment.

I don't think it is my thyroid that is swollen because it is on the sides. The doctor and I both think it is my glands. The swelling is better, but seems worse at night.

I feel like I am falling apart. The whole thing depresses me. I just wish that I could be normal!!

{{{HUGS}}} Sorry to hear that the medicine gave you an allergic reaction... how scary!! I hope they can find a medication that can help you. I know how you feel about your body 'falling apart'... I felt that way about 6 months ago. Fortunately, after lots of reading and soul searching I have found a plan that seems to be making me feel better. I have finally figured out that *I* am in charge of what is done to me and drs don't always know me best. Best wishes to you...
