I was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 12, my grandmother and my mom both have it. Well, for me.. All my life i've been nervous about children. I once got pregnant when I was 15 (totally unexpected) anyways, I miscarried. Since then i've been very nervous about being pregnant and miscarrying, or not being able to get pregnant. I want to go back to the endocrinologist now that i'm 18, and won't have to be with my mom to express my concerns. I was wondering if i'm able to go to a reproductive endocrinologist and talk about my concerns? Maybe let them run a few tests. I'm not sure though because i'm not actively trying to get pregnant, but in the near future my boyfriend and I do want to concieve. Anyways, do any of you know if reproductive endocrinologists take people who are not TTC and just want to know everything is working properly? Or do you have suggestions as to who I should see? It would definitely lift my spirits to know everything is OK. Plus, i'm having odd periods lately. Like, 4 - 5 days of light brown spotting then another 5 days of actual period flow. I just want to make sure everything is alright in there Well, any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
Yes you can see a RE when you arent actively ttc. They should be able to tell you how you can better prepare later for TTC. Like taking metformin now, diet/exercise if needed, bcp's etc.
If you're having any type of period (and not taking BCP) it's a very good sign. It could be changes in diet, exercise and metformin would help you carry to term next time.

Thanks so much for responding. Its just a bit awkward to me, but I guess i need to get over that. I did try metformin for a bit, but it ended up making me really sick to my stomach and I also had issues with my blood sugar getting tooooo low alot but that probably would of been a bit better had i ate more, I do have some weight to lose and I also need to start getting my body into shape. I do ALWAYS get my period, theres a few periods maybe (2 a year) that don't come on time, or are weird but I guess that happens with everyone now and then lol . Otherwise i'm really sort of "blessed" in that area. When i first went to my endo my androgens were a bit high, but i came back a bit later after i lost 15 pounds and they were down alot!! I need to get back on that and hope things work out that way. I just have so much problems keepin my weight on track! especially with a bf who loves taco bell as much as i do! haha thanks so much ladies!
Yeah when I started metformin I had the same issue where I would be sick and it would make my sugar crash. This was because I was eating so poorly. Lots of calories, and sodium. I went on this way for a year and a half until I figured it out.
Taco Bell is the worst in my opinion. I also love them and so does my husband, but even compared to McDonalds, a Quarter pounder with cheese of often better then a couple of their tacos or a burrito with their nutritional content.

taco bell is definitely my weakness lol. my bf is obsessed with it and always gets on my ass to eat some with him and of course, i do lol but i do need to stop with that. i'm thinking i'll probably make an appt this week for a reproductive endo, i just wanna make sure everything is OK in there. i did notice after i miscarried when i was 15, my periods were so messed up for like a year. they were 2 weeks long, almost 3. EVERY month. then it started to even out. i have really bad problems with bcp's though, i'm bipolar and it tends to make my moods horrible.
Yeah if you're having periods, I would avoid BCP for now if they make your mood horrible. For me they would give me terrible cramps that sent me to the ER and I got a catscan and it was nothing. When I stopped taking them, the pains went away. (Although now I don't get a period each month.)
Definitly avoid Taco Bell. Most cysters will tell you if they mess up their diet and eat something bad they get to feeling sick within a few hours.
I took a vacation a few weeks back and binged, drank and it really hit me how horrible it made me feel. It took a solid week of eating healthy to get to feeling good and energized again.
I did have some chicken poppers at Sonic on Sunday for lunch. I was about 70 miles from home, and in a little town with not even a Subway (which is good in moderation for me, still high in sodium) so anyway, on the way home I had to make my husband drive me back because I got to feeling so nasty and nauseated.
