I found out a few days ago that I have PCOS. I sort of new already as I always had irregular and painful periods...nevertheless I am gutted and just feel so depressed. On top of everything everyone I know seems to be pregnant
Sorry to hear how you've been feeling but welcome to SC. Glad you found us, there are lots of people here who feel the same and can offer some great help or answer any questions you might have so you'll never be alone.
Where abouts in the UK are you from? What is your doctor doing to help? x

My docs are rubbish. All she said is wait a year and half but I don't want to!! dh doesn't like 'impatience' so he is saying wait but...
This is going to sound so dumb but how do you go about arranging to see a specialist? (I asked on the general board too)
My doc said that there is a 'spectrum' of pcos and I have it 'minor' - as in I'm not over weight, I don't have excess hair or acne, balding and so on. About 6 months ago they were going to check me for pcos and the nurse looked at me and said I really don't think you have pcos, you don't 'look' like you have it, so I didn't get it checked out, which I'm annoyed about as different people have different symptoms. The only thing I have is irregular and painful period. My cycles range from approx 40 days to the longest which has been approx 65 days.
welcome Rock Chick I'm from London too! I'm Central - near to Kings Cross - whereabout are you?
I think a lot of Doctors are still not too sure on PCOS and don't quite believe that it is a horrible condition suffered by lots of women...have you had any bloods taken or a scan done?
I want to give you hope that pregnancy does happen with PCOs - I was told that it would be 'highly unlikely' I would conieve....about 2 years later with a ltitle hand from Metformin and weight loss I was pregnant with my little miracle and she's now 18 months old!
I know sometimes it is so overwhelming and it feels like things will never happen but hand in there.
BTW, check out the meet up we're organising to August - it would be nice to meet you and I look forwards to seeing you posting more around here soon (and possibly in the chat room)
Welcome from us bunch of nutters! We are all a little crazy here but when it counts we can be sensible!

We are in the process of buying a house..yay! So I've been busy with that and I've decided to go to the docs once we've moved in and stuff so I can focus on that fully rather than being stressed about the move.
We live in East London...hopefully I will try to make it at the meet up
