Default Just got Diagnosed with PCOS

I was told to put my questions in here because I am 6'0 and 145lbs. I was 2 months ago 165lbs. I was wondering if PCOS can make you lose weight fast in some cases? I didn't try to lose this weight and i look kinda sickly thin. I eat lots and mostly healthy but my carb in take is 2500-3000/day. Can anyone help me find out. Also i was wondering if i have to watch my weight because i was diagnosed with PCOS. I now that I don't want to lose anymore weight and the doctor said that I might end up gaining...just wondering if anyone can share info on this. Thank you

Dominique

HI,

Glad you found the thread. your carb intake sounds excessively high... are you sure you have those numbers right? I don't know what to tell you about your weightloss, but I do know that generally they recommend a low/good carb diet for PCOS so you may want to look into that and metformin. I can't guarantee you won't loose anymore weight though. (Oh I just noticed that you are from Canada, so maybe you use different measurements? 2500-3000 what?) My doctor had me trying to stick with about 100 g of good carbs a day (although not every doctor recommends that, so you'd want to check with yours) Good luck!
