I was just diagnosed with pcos this month and my endo prescribed flutamide 250mg. So far the medication is a little strong for me; I'm experiencing nausea and extreme stomach pain. My endo has suggested I reduce the dosage to 125mg. Is anyone else on Flutamide? If so, how long did it take to see results on hair and skin? I'm having these tiny bumps all over my forehead that won't go away.
Also any ideas on exercise routines and foods to eat that will help my situation?
FYI- I am not insulin resistant or have extreme weight gain.
Another thing... has one experienced changes in their skin tone (on face)?
Thanks my cystas!! & good luck with your condition cause it's such a difficult one to overcome.
I haev been on250 mg of Flutamide for nearly two yeasrs now initially I felt terrible on it I started to take it in the mornings and would then spend the day feeling shattered and ill.
I started to take it at 5pm every day and I dont get any symptoms at all as I am obviously sleeping through the worst of it.
It has helped greatly wiht my hair growth as in excess hair but NOT for my hair loss which is why I went on it in the first instance x
As for exercise I find vigourous swimming the best for toning and cardio

My endo actually recommended reducing to 125 mg since I was feeling really nauseated and sick. The 125mg makes me a lil sleepy but it's not bad at all. Scared Sally- did the flutamide help with your skin? I'm having so many tiny little bumps on my forehead and cystic acne on my cheeks... i'm using benzo peroxide 6% wipes which are helping very little. What have you guys used?
The swimming sounds like a great idea except I don't know how to swim
I will try aerobics and maybe yoga...
Also the flutamide has kinda helped revive my hair and curls but I think it's gonna take a while to not shed at all. I've only been on it for 6 days and I've seen tremendous improvement in terms of the heart palpatations and hair is slowly going back to normal.

I had the forehead bumps, but not cystic acne. My skin cleared and stayed clear (I've been off flutamide for many years now).
At the same time, however, I was working out 6 days a week, so I'm SURE that was partly, if not mostly to credit for my skin clearing up.
The cysters at FitCysters regularly report really clear, smooth skin after a several weeks of Bootcamp.
exercise definitely a must- what about cleansers? Did you use proactiv or something else?
Best to ask that in the Skin Forum.
Me? I can't remember what I used at the time (it's been nearly 10 years since I've been off flutamide). When I exercise a lot, my skin isn't problematic at all, so I just what 'whatever'. Typically Purity by Philosophy (but again, I don't have any skin issues).
