Question Just got here...starting clomid...HELP!!

Sooo....I've known I had PCOS since I was about 15 or so. I have always been a google queen, so I put stuff together and self diagnosed haha Everyone said I was just being a hypochondriac! Soo I am 23 now and have been married for almost 3 years. TTC for 1 year and then the hubby deployed for 6 months. Now he's back and luckilly I got a doctor outside of the military installation we are stationed at (if you are a military spouse, you know what a blessing that is!!) and within 10 minutes of being there, BAM diagnosis! (confirmed later that week with blood tests!) My last period was on January 14, 2009. I KNOW!!! Soo just took my last provera pill 2 days ago and now have an app on Tues Sep 29 for the results of my husbands semen analysis and the start of my clomid....WHAT TO EXPECT?? I guess I'm just asking for some insight, advice, encouragement!! ANYTHING!! We also only have until January to TTC on Clomid since my husband will be deploying again So I know that we might not get that BFP before then, but I'm hoping and praying. Thank you all in advance for everything.

Welll Congrats on being a google queen and diagnosing yourself lol.. I also went about 5 to 6 months without any type of period from Aug 2008 to Feb 2009.. I was dxed with PCOS in Dec 2008 and started on Metformin first trying to see if that helped and it did but not like my dr and I wanted.. So then we up the dose of Metformin and added in Provera and Clomid 50mg.. I had to BBT every morning which quite sucked especially on the weekends but thats how my dr pin pointed my O date.. I was on Clomid 50mg for 2 months and got pregnant with twins.. Yes all womens bodies are different and respond different but I have seen alot of great result with Clomid and I definitely owe these two little ones growing in my belly to it.. I'm going to tell you that I didn't get completely upset or down or emotional through it all and honestly the last cycle was going to take a break afterwards because I was exhausted from it but it will all pay off in the end.. I hope this helps in some way.. Good luck..

Default Clomid experience

Hey...well I'm happy that you finally got diagnosed, I know how horrible it is when you know something is wrong but nothing confirmed. Well I was TTC for 4 years and when I finally made the appt I was already prgnt with my daughter. After she was 1yr 1/2 we began ttc again and after a year passed we went to dr and i was diagnosed 4/2009 with pcos. so we have been ttc for a year and half. I began clomid with metformin for two cycles. one at 100mg and 1 at 150mg clomid. The side effects are a bit frustrating, but you may not get them all or even that bad everyone is different. I had hot flashes, dizziness, abdominal pain, tiredness, and yup lots of soreness by my ovaries. I O'd both times and they found follicles (follicles release the eggs for fertilization) the second time I had 4 follicles, still waiting on the results if I'm prgnt, don't think so, but just waiting to confirm. I had an IUI both times. Not sure if your going that route, but it's a little awkward, but we got through it. Good luck to ya!

Let me know how it goes!!

By the way....that is great you have a civilian Dr.....oh how I know what a blessing that is.

I was a military wife when I was diagnosed and when we got a BFP. I was dxd in November of 2004 and we started trying to concieve in Jan 06. I was put on Metformin as soon as I was dxd. I started provera and clomid in January. Three weeks later, I was in so much pain, my doc ordered bloodwork. Turns out I was PREGO! My base doctor got me the diagnoses and the baby!

Good luck!

Hey BLoved-It sounds like we have a lot in common, aside from PCOS...I am always self-diagnosing through the internet! I too am TTC with Clomid. I took 5 days of Provera first and I am on day 2 of Clomid. Did you start Clomid yesterday also? It sounds like we might be the perfect buddy for each other! I'm already noticing some slight side effects I think. Are you?

Well I started the Clomid on Friday the 2nd! So today is my last Clomid. I haven't noticed many side affects but thats because I take em at night, so maybe that will help! I do have soreness in my abdomen and my lower back, so I will ask my Dr about that on the 12th when I go for my ultrasound. Let me know how you're doing!! It sounds like you are the perfect person to keep in touch with! Shoot me a message! Good luck and TONS of baby dust!

I think you should ask for an echo prior to your ovulation data, say at cd11 or something and after that for progesterone test to confirm this. In Holland this is standard procedure and it helps a lot to tune the right dose.

Question

Hey girls, it has been a while since my last post. A quick update for you all. Throughout the month during and after Clomid, I experienced some pretty nasty mood swings and headaches. Other than that not really any side effects. I did Ovulation tests but not sure how accurate they were because of the Clomid. So, I was kind of guessing as to when I could have ovulated. According to a normal 28 day cycle, I should have had AF yesterday and have not yet. However, I took a HPT 5 days prior and it was negative. The only signs I have had over the 2WW are sore nipples, lots of watery discharge, and some PMS-like cramping. Now I seem to have nothing, except my nipples are just a little more sensitive than normal. Anyone have anything similar before?
