Just Got Out The Hospital With Combo ( OHSS and Ruptured Cyst)

Well I just got out the hospital after being admitted for 6 days (yeah a long time). What happened to me was freaky. I was doing an all injectable cycle. I started out on Menopur and Lupron and I was not responding and my RE decreased the lupron and increased menopur and this didn't work so he upped the dose again and dropped the lupron still didn't work. Changed to follistim and within 3 days E2 went to 138 and then 3 days later went to 838. I had lots of follies which the largest was about 16.5. He told me I was not quite ready so I did half the dose that night and went back in the am. My E2 went to 1300 and I had a boat load of follies ranging from 11's to 18.5. I triggered last Tues and BD'd on Wed and Thur. On Saturday at 4am I felt a terrible pain in my stomach that wouldn't go away. I told DH about the pain and within minutes I was on the floor in pain. DH had to slip a dress over my head and he called 911. The ambulance came and took me to the ER and by that time I was vomiting, feeling dizzy and in pain. The ER said nothing was wrong with me and was about to discharge me until a smart doc came along and did an U/S and it showed I had fluid in my stomach. So they admitted me to the hospital and lucky for me my old RE was covering that day so they called him. I had so much pain that they gave me big drugs to take it away ( CONCERN ONE ABOUT BECOMING PG). They sent me for a CT scan ( CONCERN TWO- RADIATION AND THE DYE THEY INJECTED). My BW showed that my blood was dangerously low because I was possibly bleeding from a cyst that ruptured so I had to get 2 units of blood and my potassium level dropped so I had to take supplements. I had a catheter placed in me for 2 days and ultimately developed a UTI so I started antibiotics. I know you must be saying wow what more could go wrong. I finally got out for Friday and seen my RE with my concerns about how would it be possible for any follie to implant with the amount of stress that I was under. He said that I would be suprised. I am now 10dpo and I started testing since yesturday and both BFN. I have a beta scheduled for 06-26 but I don't know. He told me if I don't feel better it would be because I have gotten pg but I do feel 10x better from a couple of days ago so I'm scared that I spent so much money and pain this cycle that it would just crush me if I don't get a BFP.

HAS ANYONE EVER GONE THROUGH HAVING A RUPTURED CYST THAT CAUSED INTERNAL BLEEDING AT THE SAME TIME AS HAVING OHSS?

I haven't, but I just had to say I'm SO GLAD you're ok, Shalonda: how scary! But now to have to worry about a BFP, and with the trauma you went through - I hope everything turns out well!

Glad you're okay, and I hope you recover quickly (And maybe get that BFP to, Fx)

I also can't help you, but I am praying that everything is okay! I am happy that you are able to be home safe now. I hope you start feeling better and that you are able to also be safely pregnant!

Shalonda: I am sorry that you had to go through all of that stuff. It sounds pretty miserable to me! I have known many people with cysts and ruptured cysts and never heard of any internal bleeding. That's really shocking. How many follicles did you have that you had OHSS? I understand that if you have OHSS you not only have a change of becoming pregnant but also at a higher "risk" of multiples. Hold out hope! When are you testing?

Bree I had a boat load of follies my E2 was over 1300 when I triggered. They told me the bleeding from the ruptered cyst did not come from stimulation. I just really wish I can get my BFP. I tested at 9 and 10dpo both BFN. I have not tested since then tomorrow will be 12 dpo and my beta is scheduled for 06-26. I'm scared to test because I will be heart broken if I see BFN.

Shalonda: cool to them having the same b-day! It's a good birthday. She was supposed to be an aries but came along with perfect timing. I'm gonna keep track of how you're doing the next couple of days. BFN's at 9 and 10 dpo mean nothing, as I am sure you know... hold out until 13 at least so you don't depress yourself unnecessarily!... I'm one to talk when we ALWAYS test way too early and then get depressed! lol. How have you been feeling the last couple days?

Bree, I broke down and tested this AM 13dpo and BFN and It feels like AF is about to show her ugly face. I am a little disappointed but OK because DH and I are going to take a mini vacation before I go back to work. Thanks for keeping up with me Bree it really means alot to me.

Oh no!!! I was so hoping it would be successful after everything that you went through. I hope you have fun on your mini vacation. At least now you can have a cocktail! Never has been much of a condolence for us... but on vacation it's a definite plus. BFN's suck!

I'll be sure to give DD a kiss if she'll let me! I've been giving her kisses all day I think she's over stimulated by them lol!

You should still probably test tomorrow just to make sure. Do you think you will?
