Just got told I am pregnant yesterday. Bit of a shock but we have now decided its fantastic, and are quite excited about it. The only thing is, I have been having bad abdo pain for about 3 weeks now, comes and goes, sometimes its so bad I feel hot like I am going to pass out or something. the pain itself kind of feels like cramp, but different, if you know what I mean!!!?
I went to the doc 2 weeks ago about it and he didnt even examine me gave me pain killer, that I didnt take, and told me to see the nurse for blood tests. I did yesterday and I told her about my peroid being late and having really sore breast< dont know if this is normal either??? She then asked if I could be pg? she did a test it was positive!
I am getting increasingly worried about my abdo pain though, and if it could be related to the baby in anyway? I couldnt get doctors appt till next thurs, I really don't know what to do, I really do not wanna loose this baby. I called today to ask to speak to the nurse but she had left for the day, I didnt think to ask to at least speak to the doctor. So there will be no way to see one till next week now, and I dont know if it will besafe to leave it that long.
All suggestiong on what I should do next are appriciated.

First of all...congratulations!
Secondly sore boobs is totally normal...they'll be like that for ages!
Now...as for the pain. I had pain pretty much all the time til I was about 14 weeks pregnant. For me all it was was everything stretching and growing...there's an awful lot going on in there at the moment. Now if the pain gets worse or is chronic or you begin to feel unwell you should go to A&E just to be safe that everything is OK. If you have any red blood loss again go to A&E.
These first few weeks are desperately worrying, I know. But try not to worry.
Now you know you're pregnant, if you ever have any worries, you can always get yourself along to your hospital's Early Pregnancy Unit (or whatever it's called - I forget!) When I had threatened miscarriage with my 4th son, they were great and saw me straight away - did scans - the lot, and reassured me baby was OK.
I've had 3 miscarriages and the two most dramatic and traumatic both had no pain or discomfort whatsoever. The third - and the threatened miscarriage (He's now 5!) - both had some pain. I'm saying that to reassure you that the pain could mean nothing, or not be associated with the pregnancy, or something natural that happens around the time of implantation. But I've miscarried without a twinge (at about 6 weeks, and at 12 weeks) - so pain isn't always something to worry about.
If you're at all worried, ring up the hospital - even if you're not booked in, yet - and ask for advice, or whether they can check you out.
The boob pain is a good thing - it means you've got hormones going on and good levels of them! I was told that it means a good pregnancy, and is a sign that all is well. So no worries there!
Good luck with it all! Enjoy your pregnancy and keep us all uptodate with how it's going and how you are!

Congratulations!! I had loads of stretchy crampy type pains in the beginning. I still get pains now especially if I stand up too quickly then I can hardly walk straight as Im practically doubled over!
Check out the pregnancy boards on here and join the mommies group of the month you are due in- at least that way you can see if there having the same things as you? I have found the pregnancy boards one of the most reassuring things since I found out I was pregnant!
Sore boobs is part of being pregnant- I couldnt even sleep on my front because of it!!

At my old hospital they were there 24 hrs a day, every day of the year. If you call and ask to be put through to the relevant dept, often a midwife answers the phone and can give you good advice, and will tell you what you need to know and when to get there.
I've also called NHS Direct with emergencies with my little uns, and they also put a nurse on the phone to you, if nec.
My 4th son was a terrible pregnancy - a lot of sudden blood loss at about 8 weeks, followed by losing the jelly stuff daily (as well as blood) and that went on til a month or two before I had him. He's now a lively, well 5 year old - but I remember seeing that stuff and thinking I'd lost him. So it can go well.
Lots of love, Polly x
