Smile Just an introduction

Well this seems a good a location as any to do a delurk, so here goes.

Well, I've been browsing these forums for months now, ever since my girlfriend dropped the "bomb" of PCOS on me. When she first told me she gave me the impression that she could never have kids of her own. Like some other of her boyfriends I took this news hard as I would like kids of my own in the future. But the inquisitive scientist boyfriend inside me wanted to find information and attempt to "fix her problem". Much to my suprise the syndrome is overwhelming common, there our drugs to help with the symptoms, and doesn't seem anywhere near as scary as it did that first night.

I've informed her about my findings(most of which I found through soulcysters), she has since talked to her GP and it turns out she has never officially been diagnosed. A month or so ago she had bloodwork done, and next month she gets to go see a PCOS specialist. So with all this Doctor type stuff happening I figured now would be a good a time as any to delurk.

So for personal info, girlfriend and I are both 28, up in alberta Canada.

Jeff

Well, from on Jeff to another...welcome aboard !!

This sight is a truly amazing place to learn about PCOS and how to handle the day to day struggles that we all face in dealing with it. If your girlfriend is diagnosed with PCOS, and she hasn't already been on this site, I highly recommend that you get her on here...there's so much information & so many people who can relate to her situation and/or problems, as well as yours !!

It's not always easy living & dealing with PCOS, whether you're the person who HAS it, or the person WHO LOVES the person who has it. (did that make sense ??)

The fact that you've come here & done some homework on PCOS shows that you obviously care a great deal about her, and that is the first step in helping her to deal with PCOS. If both partners in a relationship have each other to lean on & get strength from, it makes it much easier on the woman who's dealing with PCOS and on the relationship as well.

I commend you for finding this site & getting all the info that you could. Please let us know how it goes & what the diagnosis turns out to be.

Wishing you both the best !!!
