Hey all. I just joined this group but have been with PCOS for over a year & 1/2 and I am getting ready to pull out hair. Metformin is not working to regulate AF. Any ideas what I can try?

hi lady in obx i know how you feel . my doc tried me on metformin all it did was try to shut down my liver and landed me in hospital for a month then i tried the natural approch by taking some vitamins like flaxseed, b complex, selenium, vit e , vit c and pre natal vit and that did regulate my cycles then when i thought i had achieved pregnacy it turned out to be a molar preg and well that just broke my heart but now i am going to see a new gyn and i pray to god he knows what he's doing anyways if you want you can email me at tanya_mariemad@hotmail.com and we can keep in contact and get through this together with the help of others on this post too
I know that the DR is not happy with me at all right now because now they are demanding to get a complete physical from me when they should of done that back in Dec 2005 not May 2006. They thought that the IF clinic would do it. Man I am really getting the feeling like I am getting the run around. But I guess it is good to find out now instead of further in the treatment. Sorry to be so down right now, it just seems like all I am hitting is brick walls.
I am always on Messenger from 7:00 am est to about 6 - 7 pm est if any want to talk. danette795@hotmail.com is my e-mail.

welcome!! I have recently started to gor for IF treatment but I have been hitting nothing but road blocks i have had more tv ultrasounds that then normal human should have and more physicals. I have had three physicals since Feb. and now to top it off I now have thyroid issues, I was on metaformin early on but it did nothing but make me ill and AF as well did not show up. The endo i was seeing kept switching my meds even after I told her what they were doing so i switched docs. I have found out that when docs don't want tolisten you need to find a new one.
Im new and cant figure out how you put up your meds list and such. Im going to keep looking and try to figure it out but if someone knows, please tell. Thanks!
hi also recently joined and i have just been diagnosed with pcos today. i have been put on metformin 500 once a day and provera. i am a bit anxious about this whole proceedure. I am so hoping this metformin will help me lose weight and help me conceive.

well i have had pcos since i was 12 but was officially diagnosed with it in 2000. metformin hasn't regulated af for me either. when i wasn't trying for a child i took bcp and they regulated me but now i am trying prometrium to jumpstart af then trying clomid. good luck and just keep your head up.
