Default just looking for hope.........

i have been diagnosed with PCOS for almost 14yrs now. im currently 26, have been taking met for a year off and on trying to battle with these side effects. I'am now at a point where ........i guess i'm feeling so discouraged i'm despressed. it's been a good 3mnths started out again 1500mg (nothing) now up to 2000mg a day with nothing to show for it except tears. everytime i ask myself when will my period come?, if i'm finally eating right and excersing when will i loose some weight?, i've long ago since a teenager learned to except having a full beard. but i dont know anymore i read about all you woman having these glorious outcomes and then i hit some threads where some of you have shown progress and then poof no more. my heart no longer is a believer that i will ever personally get better but my mind is telling me i can only hope. i have always been a tough cookie and now i'm crying atleast 2 times a week. i never before wanted children until i feel in love and now that i have found someone who shares all i want out of life, i cant help but ask why me? my boyfriend is totally supportive he even took it upon himself to research PCOS and Metformin. but i'm now thinking of cutting things off between us until i can pull myself together. i just dont known what to do anymore i feel like a mental patient.

Have you talked to your dr about something for the depression? It is really common for us PCOSers to need just a little help with coping with the condition, and it is nothing to be ashamed of.

It didn't work for me. So far my dr has tried Celexa, Wellbutrin, and now I'm on Xanax. Even while on the meds, I still get mood swings, but they are a lot milder then when I'm not on anything for it.

I just wanted to let you know that I understand. A lot of medicine's do not work for me either, and I can't say I am a miracle story either because I am still getting a lot of things under control. I would say look for a better doctor maybe? Not saying the one you have is a bad one, but sometimes you just need one that you mesh with well, lord knows we see them enough we might as well like them. I deal with anxiety and depression and it has gotten to some bad points. I am going to see a Psychiatrist soon in hopes he can help. I have finally found a doctor that is willing to try different things and actually works holistically more so. Just keep trying! Never give up! Live your life and don't let PCOS get in the way of your happiness! If you ever need to talk to someone to talk feel free to IM me on AIM at MutableParadox ... In response to cutting things with your significant other, I would recommend not doing that! If you love him don't ever let him go, and if he loves you which it looks like if he is willing to help you thru this than cherish it! That is what a relationship is all about. I hope you get some answers and the help you need. <3
