I just lost my baby on Sept. 2nd. My EDD was March 17th 09. How it happened ...... is strange! I suffered from severe migrains for several days. I went to the emergency room because I was sure I had an anerizism...spell?....or a tumor. I had a CT scan done and it came out fine....was given pain meds and IV for awhile and then sent home. Came back 2days later for same thing! They again gave me meds and IV and then I demanded an ultrasound. I got my ultrasound after much fight.....they determined the baby had passed at least a week before. I was sent home and told to make a OBGYN appt to have a D&C done. The next morning....I woke up and my clothes were full of blood and tissue. My husband ran our youngest son to his mom and then we went to the hospital. I bled so much that I passed out and then came to with my OBGYN doctor right in front of me....saying we are taking you to have a D&C right now! Ok..... all that was done....I stayed in hosp. for 2 days due to blood loss and refusal of blood transfusion....I am home now trying to recover...but I am still having the migrains!! My doc. says they are due to the rapid change in hormones?! Have any of you had this or heard of this? I am still suffering from painful migrains and I am tired of being in pain already!! I am trying to cope with losing my baby and yet I can't even cope with moving my head or writing this...without sunglasses on and 2 percocets!! Have you heard of migrains from hormone changes????? Sorry so long....I had to explain! Thank you to whomever gets this far to give me a reply!! LOL
I'm so sorry about your loss and all that you've gone through!! With the headaches, they can be a symptom of pregnancy due to hormone changes, and I believe the end of pregnancy can do the same. Please don't give up on alternative ideas for pain relief such as chiropractic care or acupuncture. You never know what will help you. (((Hugs)))

sheri....thank you for the condolences and the support! I just lost my mom to cancer in July and then grandpop in Aug. and now our baby in Sept. It really is no wonder I have a headache that will not end! I just have to pick up and move on I guess....though its hard! I have 3 other children who need mom to be ok.....so I am working on it!
I am so sorry about your loss. I would get headaches right before it was time for my cycles to start, I also had them when I was pg. It is probably just your body getting used to the hormone fluctuations. But I do hope that you start to feel better soon and have a chance to grieve!

well....I actually believe now that it is more then just a migrain! I have suffered now for 8 days with it and I am being referred to a nurologist..spell? I think it may be a disk problem or even TMJ.....but I really don't think its just simple migrains anymore at this point. I guess we will see. Thanks for everyones input!! Really!!
Tina I am so sorry for your loss....sending hugs your way.
I also had the headaches after my pg loss with the sensitivity to light and dizziness for 2 months. Went to the Dr. who could not fully explain why however I figured it out myself before the pg I have terrible PMS symptoms and now none at all. With the sudden shift in hormones your body takes some time to adjust. Wth your CT scan being normal I suspect its the changes in hormones.
Wishing you the best
