Default Just need a little encouraging...

Hello everyone,

I'm brand new to this community. I just found out I have PCOS in the last month. Hubbie and I are TTC for the first time this month (July/August). My doctor started me on Prometrium (for 10 days, first dose taken last night). He said that will make me have my period. Then from day 5-9 of my cycle I'm supposed to take Clomid (50mg). This whole thing is so new and surreal. I'm just a little nervous about it all.

Do you happen to know when I should start doing the ovulation tests? My doctor's office told me I should start keeping track of my ovulation and let then know when and if I ovulate. If I don't, I guess they'll increase dosages?!?

Anywho, I've doing a lot of research about PCOS and some of it can be so scary, especially since we're going to TTC this month.

Thanks for listening,
Lara

Hi,

I ovulate on my own (however I can't get pregnant), but I wanted to tell you good luck & the more informed you are - the better. Don't be scared -many women on the board have had successful pregnancies. I wish you luck and if you ever want to chat, please let me know.

Welcome to SC! You will find the lots of information on here. I ovulate every month on my own, but I do not use test kits.

I am in the same boat as you. I just got done with my last pill of progesterone and am supposed to start 100mg of Clomid on CD 5-9 as well. Since you'll probably ovulate around CD 14 (maybe a little before or after) I'm probably going to start using the ovulation predictor kits around CD 10 or 11.
