This is going to be a quick one I'm absolutely knackered. Friday i went to the Dr to get signed off the sick so i could go back to work yesterday. On the way out of the office he noticed my left leg was very swollen. I explained that it always swells but usually not to the evening and it had been constantly swollen since Tuesday, but i just thought it was because i was tired.
Anyway he wasn't happy with it and sent me to hospital to get DVT ruled out. So I was admitted on Friday night, thankfully a scan ruled out a DVT but they gave me IV antibiotics for cellulitis. Have just been discharged this evening. So i was longer in hospital for my leg than my surgery.
It was interesting as the Dr i saw wasn't my usual Dr and he couldn't believe nobody had ever investigated why one leg swells to elephant proportions while the other one doesn't. Any Dr that I've mentioned it to always says it's just because of my weight. So who knows maybe he'll try to get it sorted out.

That's good that a GP spotted it for you, sometimes seeing someone different make the world of difference.
My friend saw a different GP over some bruising she had, she is adamant if she saw her own GP he would have dismissed her over it saying it was nothing. This GP she saw thoroughly checked her over and found a mass in her stomach. He immediately sent her for a scan the next day, even after an MRI they could rule out it was not cancer; they did note it was a very large growing in a strange way fibroid.
Anyway that was three weeks ago and she’s home now recovering from a hysterectomy, thankfully no cancer was found.
The infection seems to have gone but my leg is still quite swollen. Now that a professional has agreed that it isn't really normal for one leg to swell so much while the other is is perfectly fine I think i'm going to get it investigated properly
Thanks again everybody
