Okay so my doc gave prescribed 10 provera pills to take so I can finally get AF again. Well I just finished them all two days ago and I have a couple questions.
1. So when I finally get AF, should I get back on my bc because when i'm on it, i'm pretty regular. Or should I wait to see if I get AF regularly without needing more provera?
2. Also [and this might be tmi] after taking the medication, i've had so many cysts pop up all over my body. I'm not even kidding. It's disgusting. I have two under my arms, one of my neck, two on the back of one ear, and 8 near my inner thighs and.. well.. that whole region. I am in so much pain right now. I thought this was supposed to make cysts go away? Is this a normal side affect?
=\

Provera has no effects on cysts or boils as far as I know. It is simply an aid in helping you have a "bleed" aka AF.
As far as going on BC (I'm assuming this is birth control pills, right?).
If it keeps you regular and you are not TTC then why not? Provera is not necessarily meant to "jump start" your cycles back into motion, it just helps end a long cycle, KWIM? If you want to see if your cycle becomes regular again I guess the worst thing that can happen is that you will take provera again to bring on a bleed and then be able to start back on your BCP.
Good luck I hope I made some sense!

no i'm not on metformin but after reading up on it, i think i'm going to talk to my doctor about it.
thank you, rfordin <3
I saw that you have been diagnosed with insomnia, I just wanted to tell you I had that same problem until I started on Metformin ER. I think it has something to do with us not prcessing sugar I am by no means a Dr. but everything you described were things that metformin helps with. I hadn't had AF in 6 months when I was finally treated for PCOS. I was given the met and progesterone to start my period but I never had to tak the Prog. because the met did the trick. Good luck!
