Smile Just saying hi

I just wanted to let you all know that I've been thinking about you and wanted to say hi!

Katie turned 1 on the 31st. Where in the world did this year go? She's doing great. Ready to take off running any day now.

I'm still exhausted all the time. I even went to the doctor and he said it gets easier when they turn 5! Uhhhh what? LOL I don't know if it's because I'm too fat, old or what but it seems like I am tired all of the time. Oh well.

Also I'm kind of feeling a little lonely lately. I'm kind of in a different place than most of my friends. Being older and having a baby. I really need to make some new friends I guess. Why is it so hard to make friends as an adult but when you're a kid you see somebody at the pool and can just say, "hey you want to play?" and then you have a friend? LOL

Hugs to all my cyster friends! Hope everybody is doing well!
Julia

Hi Julia!

I could relate to your post because I'm in a similar place except I haven't yet become a mother! I hope that changes soon--we are waiting to be chosen by a birth mother.

I'm 42 though and I don't know ANYONE my age just starting out with a family. My Sunday School class is full of great ladies, but they are in their mid thirties and have children ranging from 5-12. By the time I have a newborn, they could all have teenagers!

I'm hoping and saying a prayer that you feel peppier soon. Once she starts walking, if she already hasn't yet, you'll really be needing some energy!

BTW, your little girl is so beautiful!

Thanks for all your posts ladies. I really should try to get here more often. Such wonderful supportive women.

Last weekend we got together with friends we hadn't seen in 7 years or so and we had so much fun. They're the kind of friends that even though you haven't seen them in forever you can pick right up where you left off. Well my friend Barb who is also an older mom really helped to remind me of all the positives about being an older mom and I feel so much better. It so easy to get caught up into comparing yourself to your perceptions of others and forget that you're doing a pretty good job yourself. That's what real friends are for. To remind you of those kind of things.

Peace to all of my online friends.
