My husband suffers from depression and I have had some since I have been dealing with all of my hormonal changes and I wanted to let those of you that do not want to go the hard drug way something that has worked on us. We take 1 5HTP (you can get it at Wal Mart, Walgreens) and they are 50mg. We take one of those and a really good multi vitamin. I take a prental and he takes a ONE A DAY for MEN and it works really good. He has not had any problems with this. I also have a cousin that just lost his son (age 15) and he went through suicidal times and his wife is going through them now and we had them both try it and it is working for them. Now, with my husband after about 4 months on the 5HTP he said he starts to have no feelings (kinda like numb to it all) so he either takes 1 5HTP every other day or he will take 1 5HTP 25mg everyday. Just so you know. I know this is a hard thing to go through.

I will have to check that out. I feel as if I may be depressed, but I DO NOT want to take anti depressants. I have heard so many bad things about them. Thanks for the good info!!!
