Default Just started Met, Ive got some questions

I began Met yesterday. My doc per. 500mg. I cut the tabs in half to "ease up" to the 500. I'll be on the "full dose" on monday (I didnt want to take the full dose incase I got serious side effects at work where potty breaks are limited) Anyhow, Im on YAZ for PCOS and not insulin resistant. (my last BGL fasting was like 79) My doc was worried the met might bottom out my blood sugar and told me if it did we'd have to try some sort of duretic that has been sucessful in some PCOS women. He also suggested that I "check my blood sugar" if I start to feel weird. I dont have a BGL meter. ANYHOW, My question for everyone is what type of meter should I buy, or does it matter. Should I chart my BGL for a few weeks on Met. and Im already on a low cal limited carb diet, what if any changes should I make to it? Anyother suggestions or advise is great. So fat on met (all 2 days of it) I dont feel as cloudy headed and I feel more focused. (like when they tired me on riddlin a few years ago for ADHD) My tummy is a little icky, but nothing all that bad. I had the "munchies" yesterday and was a little tired, but I think that might be a different issue.
so here I go. (sz 18) 237 is my weight wednesday, and Im aiming for 180 before the end of the year (I'd like to see 200 before summer) Im really muscular so those weights will mean a size 12 and 16 respectively.
Oh, while on the met, what foods should I avoid and how does excersize effect it if at all.
Thanks yall for all the help and support!!!

There are alot of good BGL meters out there. I use a Free Stlye meter to check my BGL. If I were you I would chart my BGL for a few weeks and let your doctor see it at your next visit. Last year I startes a low cal plan lost 10 pounds my first month. I joined a gym and lost another 30 pounds by working out. I go to the local YMCA on Mondays to swim and on Tuesdays and Thursday I am at the gym for about 50 minutes. Since you are on Met I would limit the breads , chips etc. Also if you can start useing Splenda. Also you can get alot of thigs with Splenda in it like puddings , jello etc. If you have any more questions please email me at bermi_14_2000@yahoo.com. Please put Soulcycter in the subject line so I wont delet it.

thanks for the sugestions! I'm already limiting carbs, and have been for a while. Most of what I eat is reduced sugar and no sugar anyhow :-) I'll swing by wally world or target monday and see about a meter.
