Default Just starting the adoption process

Hi Ladies,

My husband and I are from Canada, and we just sent in our application for adoption in Canada. Our social worker called and we meet tomorrow. Does anyone have information about what they ask during the homestudy? I am just wanting to know in advance so I know what to expect. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I am looking forward to hearing from you all!

Take Care
Linz

I have just finish my home study. They will check your home and ask you question about your income and family history alone with your medical history. they check your criminal record also among other things.

Hi Lindsay,

Good luck on this exciting journey! I am your neighbour in Alberta and we just finished an international adoption from Liberia. Are you guys looking at a government or private domestic adoption?

Our homestudy was very detailed and involved alot of very thorough questions about our relationship, our upbringings, our views of discipline and parenting, etc. They did make sure we had space in our home for a child, but they didn't want a grand tour or anything. Our social worker came over 3 times and spent a couple hours each time. I was frightened at first about it, but it turned out to be really good. For dh and I, it reminded us of what we appreciate about each other and what we don't really appreciate so much. LOL

Can't wait to hear more of your story as it unfolds.

God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called.
