Question Just starting Clomid

Hi, Does anyone really know how expensive clomid is? I haven't started yet but I will be in a couple of weeks. I just need to know because our medical benefits will not cover ferility treatments/drugs. (cheap company!) And well I'd kinda like to know what to expect, so there are no heart attakic when I go to pay. LOL This will be #1 that we are ttc and I'm excited and I hope it works.

I just strted my clomid last night. Im not covered for fertility by my insurance, either. I found that they cost 11.99 per pill at my walgreens store, but only 7.99 at Kmart. These are the generic, of course, but the active ingrediants are exactly the same, so you only have to worry if you are allergic to the filler drugs. I would call different pharmacies and ask. Sometimes they get cheaper the more you have to buy, also. I got 5 50 mgs for 26.99 at kmart. Worth it, if you ask me. Good luck!

Thanks Guys for your responses. Now I don't have to have a heart attack. I have a cousin who has pcos too and she's spent over 10 thousand dollars on ferility drugs. When she told me that I nearly had a barnyard of animals, but now I feel better about starting it. Phew! LOL and thanks beetlegirl for the searches. They were awesome and had lots of info. Thanks again!

I get mine from Walmart here in Canada, they have the cheapest filling fee, only $4.95... The total for me for clomid for 5 pills is $34.00 (there abouts and that's including the filling fee)... I think the 5 pills without the filling fee is about $28.00...

I am under my DH's drug plan and I didn't think that they'd cover it, knowing that it is a fertility drug, but they covered it... But his plan just started so I was paying for a few of the prescriptions out of pocket, but glad now that DH's drug plan covers it...

Good luck...

I got mine at Shoppers here in Canada and I think it was $38 for 5 - 50mg.

Mine was also covered by my work benefits, but they only cover it for 12 consecutive months.

I can't remember if our insurance covered it or not, but I do recall the number being between $30-$40.00 here in Ontario.

Default Just Starting Clomid

Hi, I just read your question and I was on clomid combined with metformin and I got pregnant with my daughter who is now 3. the cost depends on the dosage I know that the first dosage was about $60.00 and then it goes up from there If memory serves me correct the highest dosage of the clomid will run you about 210.00. but let me tell you it is worth every penny I am back on the clomid and metformin again for our second child... just remember if the first dose dosen't work don't get discouraged because there is always the next one....
