Hi!
My husband and I are just starting to really look into adoption. We've always agreed that it was something we might do but now after our 3rd miscarriage we are starting to really investigate. We are in Ontario Canada and I'm just rying to find out as much info as possible. Any hints, tips, or links you think we should check out?

I was thinking of adoption so I started with my local county adoption. I dont know if that the route that I want to go. I am not trying to be mean but all of the kids are older and have severe physical disablities. My husband and I are a lot older and I dont know if we would have the physical where with all to do this taks. I dont know what I should do thought because private adoption is so expensive. Any ladies have any thoughts on the subject.
You could always work toward being a foster/adopt parent. In many states, foster parents have the first choice to adopt the children if the become adoptable. You are more likely to receive younger children.
You do have to decide if you could handle the children going back to family after an extended stay with you (as you WILL get attached). They may be with you for a year or more and then be returned to someone in the birth family.
We were very fortunate to adopt our first two foster children. I would say we were the exception to the rule. I truly thought we would have children come and be returned, we were hoping that within the first ten children we would have the option of keeping one.
All I can say is our children were brought specially to us, it was a God thing. They couldn't be more perfect for our family.
Depends on which avenue you want to go thru. We adopted twice internationally (Ukraine and China) and hope to do it again soon. We also have been thru the PRIDE training and are looking into local CAS adoption.
Good luck on info gathering and sorry for your losses.
Amy

We just adopted a new born baby, which we were told was next to impossible because we already had children. But we found this awsome website while looking for more information. Talked with them on the phone, started the process in January and had a newborn in June! Adoption Network Law Center or anlc you can find them on the web. They were totally supportive and walked us through the process from beginning to end. I would definatly recommend them. They are a little pricey, but they do all the work.
My DH and I just went to our first adoption information meeting tonight. Not sure if I can use names but we went thru Bethany Christian Adoption agency. We really enjoyed the meeting tonight and are going to pray to see if this is the direction the Lord wants us to in. They have a website, bethany.org if you are interested in checking them out. I will pray for you and your husband as I know this is a difficult decision and I am sorry for your losses.
