Hey i would like to chat with some new people. I just got diagnosed with pcos, im in my mid teens and i would like to talk to some peeps about it. Im new to this site so im sorry that im not sure how this works yet.
Brrrr but its COLD in Dunedin!! I like my sunshine and lack of snow thank you very much!
Hey Just me, dont tell me, your from Dunedin too? Have a look around the boards and see what areas you want to talk about. Catching PCOS in your teens is great as you can get it under control nice and early!

Hi, im new, and I live in Dunedin - the party town lol!
I am so stoaked to finally find a PCOS forum, that has space for us NZers!
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2004, and really annoyed that all my doc told me to do was 'loose some weight and you'll be right' There was no advice on how to, or what i should be eating etc... and I didnt really understand what PCOS was. Its only really been in the last couple of months that I have got to understand it - since Im getting married in two weeks and planning to try for a baby end of next year!
Why so many Cysters in Dunedin?! Maybe the lack of Vitamin D huh? lol
Maybe we should get a coffee group or something together seeing as there is a group of us!

Hey girls, I'm kirst, rapt to find this forum! I come from the west coast (south isl) and currently living in Franz Josef with my husband and 2 children. My reason for being on here is for the support and just to chat with peeps who know what i'm on about!!! At the mo i'm peed off with my GP as he diagnosed me, then had to look up on his pc what pcos was! then just told me to lose weight.... yeah that easy aye?! looking fwd to getting to know everyone =)
I'm peed off with your GP too for just telling you to lose weight - any other good GPs in your area you could try? You might want to try Metformin or BCPs or even fertility meds. Or could you try a naturopath?
Actually, perhaps you should direct your GP to SoulCysters next time!
(BTW - losing weight is still a good idea, I'm addicted to FitCysters!)

yeah i'm getting pretty peeved about my doc the more i think about how useless he is. he's the only doc in our region, but i'm trying to make a trip to hokitika to see a doc there.. will take me a while but i'll get there.
just wondering about how one goes about getting medication? can ya ask/demand it, or do you have to meet a certain criteria to be able to be on it, and is it expensive?
I'm going to start to try and lose weight, i want to do it properly this time, good old exercise and healthier eating. will have a look at fitcysters, thanks =)
