Default just wanted to say hi

I stumbled across this site while searching for answers to some questions that I have. I am so glad that I did. I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago. I had been having symptoms for about a year before that. My OB/Gyn was going to put me on birth control pills to induce ovulation. I stumbled a study that one of the Endocrinologists in my town was doing for a new medication to treat PCOS. I signed up to participate in the study. I haven't heard if that medication is available yet but I keep watching. It was similar to Metformin but based on the participants here it was much more effective. After the study was over I started taking Metformin and I have lost 20 lbs and have been regular ever since. I even managed to get pregnant without clomid or anything but then miscarried. I work in Public Health and I see women all the time that have symtoms of PCOS but that aren't getting treated for it. any way I just want to let you all know that I am really glad that I found this sight.

Welcome to SC, Pco101! I'm glad you found us!!

I'm sorry to hear about your m/c. My first m/c was a natural pg without any fertility drugs or met.

It's amazes me how so many women go undiagnosed. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 28 and I had been showing signs of it since my teens. The medical community really needs to catch up.

I hope to see you around the boards!!
