Justification of any action by using scripture and "feelings" I posted the following in another thread, as a part of a reply (I was exaggerating a bit obviously) but was encouraged by another person on the thread to make it a separate thread. I think it could be interesting conversation.
For personal history, I am a christian.
I also think some religions have been used "out of context" (for lack of better wording) and used to oppress people, or do HORRIBLE things. The people who do this though, seem to be more fanatical, and not the typical believer.
So people, please share your thoughts.
"I have to ask, if I am going to say that I feel in my heart that something is ok, then does that make it ok? What if I feel it is ok to murder someone because they live in a way that is different than myself, and their morals are what I believe to be wrong? Does that make it ok? Just because that is what I feel in my heart (and I can twist scripture to support). The obvious answer should be no, but using the whole truth is relative to each person in their own context, makes what is true fluid, and not accurate."
