I changed my name and I did not lose anything. It's been a few days already. My username changed on all my old posts. That's the advantage over abandoning your account and starting a new one with a new name... which is what we used to have to do to change our names.

hmmmm - you know what I think those cysters who change their name should do?
Put their old name in their siggy for a while . . so then we all know who you are . . . just a thought

I could tell the change on some others because they left their avatar the same. It was something that I had gotten used to seeing...so if you change your name...leave your avatar

Just an FYI, some people are changing their name because their old name contained personal information that they didn't care to have available on the internet. In those instances, putting the old name in the sig kind of defeats the purpose

I used to be April2005. I changed my name because it was my due date with the baby that I lost. Too much of a harsh reminder every day to deal with. I was glad when the option to change names came up (Thanks Kat!) My avatar is still the same so I don't think I'm confusing anyone.

YOu have to have over 500 points. If you click on Ribbons and Gifts at the top of the screen and then click on Actions it will tell you how many points it takes. The you can click on Username under Ribbons and Gifts and buy the name change with your points. For more info, click on the sticky at the top of this forum Reputation Points, Ribbons, and Gifts. It tells you about all of the new features.
