Okay, well I've been eating REALLY badly since having Matt and *sigh* I've started to put on weight already. After losing so much weight during my pregnancy I just don't want to put it all on again (plus more like I did after my first pregnancy). I had someone notice yesterday that I've started gaining and this has made me finally do something. So, I though writing down here what I've eaten each day would keep my honest. Anyone who wants to join me and keep themselves honest feel free to - I'd enjoy the company
Anyway, so today DH and I started a cleanse. He's taking those herbs from the health food shop with his, but I'm just eating better. Basically we're following the plan on the packet for 15 days, except that I'm adding eggs and white meat to my diet (he can only have fish every other day, no other meat or animal product).
So, this morning I've had:
1 glass of water with lemon juice, a glass of boost juice
Breakfast - an egg, tomato, avocado, slice of rockmelon
Morning tea - peach (was planning on some walnuts also, but kids intervened and I didn't get around to getting it)
OK Deb, it's a date, to some extent. I have just gone through the same thing. After having Kel, I got my weight back down really well and was feeling good, then I went back to work and it snuck back on until I got up to 63 kg. I started 3 weeks ago with watching what I eat and drinking more water. I'm down to 60 kg now and want to shift another 2 kg. I have a deal with myself though that on weekends, I am allowed to indulge. So today I drank 2 litres of water. I had 2 nectarines and half a banana, a peanut satay subway (6 inch), a handful of macadamia nuts, one bourbon and coke and one mini milky way bar. I also religiously take my centrum each morning.
Let's see if we can achieve our goals together, Deb. YOu have to ensure you keep up your calorie intake if you are feeding though - remember your needs are greater right now than usual!
Thanks for joining me Megan! I'm not nursing, which isn't helping much on the stopping gaining weight thing.
Well yesterday I did well. I'm finding it easier at the moment because DH is doing the full cleanse and I have to do the food for him, so it's easier for me to do it too (why is it that I can easily regulate his and DD's food to be healthy but it's so hard for me to look after me??). Anyway, last night I had rice paper spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce (yummo!!). Scary thing I noticed is that yesterday we went through more yeggies than we have been in a whole week!! How bad is that for our previous veggie intake??
This morning I had a boost juice and 2 eggs and salad (tomato, avocado and a small pile of leftover salad veggies from the spring rolls last night). I made extra spring rolls, so hopefully lunch will be easy today.
At this point I'm missing my dairy, but I really need to stop it for a while and see if I react when I eat it again, because I really am suspecting I have an allergy to it. Will see. I went to the shops yesterday and was CRAVING one of those fresh greek yoghurts that you can buy in juicing bars... I didn't take up the temptation though

Okay, so I'd forgotten about lunch at Sizzler with the girls!! I did fairly well, though ate dairy. Well I'm only on day 2 of my dairy free period, so that's okay, yeah??
Lunch - steak with mashed potatoes, salad, pumpkin soup and mashed potatoes... could have definitely been worse.
Afternoon tea - earl grey tea (with milk!! - figured I'd already had dairy today anyway) and watermelon.
Dinner will be the leftover rice paper rolls.

Last night had a change of plans - DH had the rice paper rolls, I had leftover Gluten-free pasta with *ahem* creamy, mushroom sauce and a home-made rissole and sweet potatoes. Followed by a rum, dry and lime (my last one in the fridge!!). Well, I had to eat the leftovers... no point wasting food. Now the leftovers are all gone and I'm safe from here on in.
I have to say I'm pretty impressed with DH - he's been very good at sticking with the cleanse and I thought he'd be worse than me at breaking it!

well, we all have to splurge every now and then. I like the sound of the spring rolls - how do you make them? I think Kel would like something like that - she really enjoys finger foods. I was wicked on the weekend and ate all sorts of rubbish. Today is Monday though, so back to it. I missed breakfast this morning courtesy of a Kelly tantrum, so thus far my stomach is empty and it sucks!! I have 3 nectarines with me for morning tea and am going to have a subway for lunch, as I like them and they are low fat, plus I have to walk a long way to get them. I did 50 sit ups this morning - nearly killed me! I've got some little boxes of sultanas and dried pineapple for snacking on. I need to get my vegetable juicer out and start on that again - veggie juice always knocks the weight off me quickly.
We weighed in again on Saturday evening and I am sitting on 60 kg. I think this last 2 kg will be the hardest, so stick with me!!
The spring rolls are surprisingly easy to make. They're made with rice paper circles which you find in the asian section of the supermarket (with the coconut milk etc). The recipe is on the back - basically just soften the rice paper in water, then spread out on a plate, put in your ingredients (I used sliced turkey, julienned carrots, bean sprouts, cucumber, mushrooms, a little fresh coriander) and roll them up (instructions for that also on the packet).
I'm a bit scared to get on the scales at the moment. I know I have at least put on a kilo.
50 sit up? Wow. Impressive. I don't think I could even DO 50 situps!! I need to get back into yoga again - I've got a heap of videos that I really like - it's just a matter of finding some time at the moment!
I did well yesterday eating (except for 3 little celebrations choccies). Last night I even got home at 8pm and cooked fried rice with the rest of the turkey and lots of veggies. I'm amazed I did that. Usually I would've gone the take-away on the way home option for sure.
Sounds like you're being VERY good today!!

I was so flat out that I missed eating. So, all day I managed 2 nectarines and a handfull of nuts and raisins. Needless to say, by the time I got home I was ravenous! For dinner, I had leftover rissoles with rice and some tomatoes with cracked pepper - the tomatoes right now are delicious and all they need is some salt or pepper to make the super yummy! I'm enjoying them as I couldn't even look at them when I was pregnant. The rissoles were fairly fatty, so I know that was a bad move, but I was just so hungry that I didn't care what I ate. I have also gone back to drinking peppermint tea - it cleanses and refreshes (so they say).
Kelly has finally got back to sleeping through the night, so I am feeling more positive. I did my sit ups this morning while she watched, chuckling away to herself. I felt like reminding her that it was her fault that I had to do them, but I know she wouldn't listen. I keep wondering why I am doing this when we are hoping for another miracle baby - then I will be back to square one. But, if the baby doesn't happen, at least I will have my figure back.
All things considering you did amazingly well yesterday!!
I started the day okay - egg and tomato for breaky after a water with lemon juice and a berry juice. Then like you I got too busy to eat - had two milky coffee's (yep, still haven't managed a day without dairy *sigh*) and that was it until 3pm, when I shoved down a banana and some pecans while I was feeding Matt. For dinner I had the leftover fried rice, so that was okay. Hmm - I guess I did okay after all
Today I didn't have my morning coffee, so I'll go with a cup of green tea with morning tea and skip the dairy today!! Oh I love my dairy so much... Now I need to think about what I'm going to cook for dinner. Maybe some Salmon - I've got a nice fillet in the freezer - yep, might go and get it out now.
I also need to start some yoga (I think my belly tone is getting worse instead of better!!), so I might do that this arvo when Matt is having his sleep. If I don't pass out with him. For some strange reason I just couldn't sleep last night and ended up with only 2 or 3 hours sleep *sigh*.
Good luck today Megan!! You're going great guns!

Cr*p I'm having some SERIOUS sugar cravings at the moment. REALLY bad!! Luckily I don't have anything in the house that'll satisfy it, except there is 1/2 a rum christmas pudding in the bottom of the fridge. It's got gluten in it so usually I wouldn't even look twice, but today... no, must beat it, must beat it. Heh? I think DH might have a gluten-free pecan and chocolate biscuit in the freezer downstairs for his business... might go and look - it's just one biscuit......

Did the biscuits beat you, or did you resist?! You crack me up.
I fell down a bit yesterday. We had office visitors and I had noodles for lunch, but I had rice noodles and chicken, so it wasn't too bad. In the afternoon I had a mini hot cross bun without butter. I'm feeling really low today, so chances are I will lash out and eat chocolate. Oh, and last night I had an ice break, which is my greatest weakness.
I watched House last night and just sniffled through the whole thing - I find things like that really get to me since I became a Mum, where previosuly they were just intriguing.
well, the weekend was a write off, starting on Thursday when I had Red Rooster with a friend. But, rather than the healthy skin-free fillet burger, i had the Flayva. I might add that it was delicious. I didn't eat the chippies with it though, only because they went cold. Friday I had a Subway (8 grams of fat or less) but washed it down with another Ice Break (I love those things). Saturday I had 2 mini hot cross buns and a box of Pringles. Sunday I had 2 slices of toast with butter and honey, 3 snack sized Mars Bars and some dry crackers.
I feel like such a glutton.
Anyway, back on the wagon today. So far, 2 fresh apricots and 2 cups of peppermint tea.
