Does ketaconazole GROW or INHIBIT hair growth? I have a few tubes of it from my daughters thrush but I certainly do not need anything that will stimulate hair growth.

that drug is "nizoral" which is actually used to treat dandruff or, scalp problems usually dandruff related.. i would look up the drug on the net and see what you can find.. it's my understanding that it was only used for those reasons.. i could be wrong but, my husband uses it for dandruff in the winter time when it gets dry outside..

Actually, Nizoral is the shampoo/brand-drug name...the active ingredient is ketaconazole, an anti-fungal. The ketazonazole can come in pill form also (used to be an anti-androgen treatment RE says & it's still a yeast treatment). So if it's working as an anti-androgen, it should probably slow hair-head loss and slow masculine hair growth? Only 1% Nizoral shampoo is sold w/o prescription in the USA--you have to be prescribed the pills or stronger shampoo.
