Default Kia Ora from the States

Hello Ladies,

I've a bit of a dumb question for anybody that might know. My husband, a kiwi, and I are traveling home to visit his family in September. I've made this trip several times before, so I'm ok there. My question is, we got married in NZ, and then left for the States, this is the first time we are traveling to NZ as a married couple. I am worried that we will have to split up at customs, as we both have our individual citizenships. I rang the NZ embassy in Washington, but the lady wasn't sure of the answer, and the line is constantly occupied at the NZ tourist board in Santa Monica. Does ANYBODY know if we'll have to split up when we get to Auckland or not? Please help if you know.

Question Ummm

Hiya,

I dont really know the answer...just wanted to wish you the best of luck!

If you both hold a NZ passport (which I think if you are married to a kiwi, you are entitled to get one) then you would both be able to come through the "kiwi" side.

Otherwise, if you can't come through the "kiwi" side, I'm sure theres nothing to stop your husband from joining you in the "non kiwi" line I don't think??

Oh ya, I've just found this link....its from the Auckland International Airport website...dunno if its much help...but give it a go!!

Good luck,

Liz

Thanks for the thoughts, Liznz. I appreicate it. No, I travel on my American passport and he travels on his NZ one. I'm going to try and ring the tourism board again today, hopefully I'll get through.

Well, there's nothing WRONG with it, per se. It's just that we're a married couple, and I'd like it if we could stay together.
