Default Kidneys Aching Anyone?

I've had a history of kidney stones so I know what those feel like and this is a bit different. Every since I upped my dose to 2x a day of 500 mg my kidneys feel bruised. Almost like I gained weight right in my lower back. I'm trying to up my water intake to see if that helps. Anyone else have this experience? If so does it let up and what did you do to fix it. Thanks!

I was just dx'ed with a kidney infection yesterday...the pain started when I increased my dosage of Met ER to 1500mg, however, I think it's just a coincidence. If you don't feel better soon (or if you get fever), you may have a kidney infection as well. Usually, it just starts off as a dull ache and gradually gets worse (and so badly for me that I've been taking Vicodin).

Yes!!!! I was sooooo scared when i started feeling that symptom after i upped my OWN dosage (without direction by my doctor i am a nurse soi thought i could handle it) from 500mg 1x aday to 2xday and for the first week my kidneys ached and then i would almost put myself into an anxiety attack because i would lay down for bed and worry about it so much. I drink TOns and tons of water and reluctantly decide....doubling is alot for my body to handle i found out so i cut back down to 500mg in the morning and then 250 in the evening for maybe a month until i get used to it. its gonna be a slow process getting to 1500mg a day but.... i know now i'm in this for the long haul!!! For the first time in my life and with the support of all my cysters on here i know i'm not gonna slack on my health. My first time on met ever and i love all the results that come with it... check out the post

I have had kidney pain ever since I upped to 1000 mg - but the last couple of days I only took 500 mg and it seems better.

Thanks for the responses. It scared me so much too that I skipped a day completely and then took it 2 500 mg (one in the AM and one in the PM) and I was fine. I hope that helps. So far so good. I also feel that I might be constipated which could be part of the back problem as well. I haven't had any of the diarrhea that girls mention on here.....

How long does it take for the weight loss??? I haven't' lost a thing, in fact I've gained 2lbs in a month!!!
