Default Which kind of Cinnamon Extract do you use?

Hi Everyone, I came accross this webpage that says, cinnamon powder products or cassia cinnamon used in supplements sometimes contain lage amount of coumarin. which is harmful for health if taken in lage amounts on regular basis. It also says that water extract of cinnamon might not contain this substance.

The cinnamon supplement i take, just says powder of cassia cinnamon bark, The company is nature's bounty. so it is not water extract.

Which one are you using?

Haha, I think mine is exactly the same as yours.

Never heard of cinnamon extract before.

I just put cinnamon sticks in my herbal tea that I drink once or twice a day.
I also add it to my cereals when I eat them for breakfast.

I have done research on this very thing, and the only cinnamon that I feel is safest for me to take is Cinnamon Ceylon, which is TRUE CINNAMON. The Cinnamon Ceylon has only a tiny tiny amount of the coumarin in it, compared to the larger amounts in Cinnamon Cassia. I get the NOW brand Cinnamon Bark, it is TRUE cinnamon.

Here is a link to what I buy
http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=1103

Here is are links
that tells about Cinnamon Ceylon being safer......

So the cinnamon is said to cause liver problems specifically? I remember another cyster posted an article about it but I don't remember what it said.

If that's the case, I won't worry about it too much at the moment. I just had a liver panel done and expect one in the near future, so I'm just going to finish off my supply before I worry about finding the ceylon stuff anywhere.
