Ya know...I thought if I got a pretty consistent period that I must be ovulating. I didn't realize that maybe I was just shedding lining, etc. I have no clue now. I could swear I used to feel the "twinge" in my sides and get PMS symptoms up to a week early, but maybe I am imagining things. I am in the second month and if I don't get a + on my OPK, I guess we'll know the answer. We have just started "trying" with thermometers and kits.

I am going to an RE...like ASAP.

C-Encouraging about your son and MET.

I just wanted to add my two cents worth here...
Well i don't have cysts either, i'm thin, no hair problems either. My issues are that I've had 3 m/c that occured very early in pregnancy. I was first put on just progest. by my OB. Then i went to the my RE, she then added heparin and aspirn to the menu. Then i had an endometrial biopsy which showed little tissue on cd 27. So then the met. was added. No BFP. Then Femara and Novarel was added this month along with all that is listed above. My levels have really stabilized now. My testosterone was also elevated in the beginning. With all the meds, we're helping the lining be more nuturing, regulating hormones, preventing m/c, and making sure ovulation is what its supposed to be. Its a lot to take in sometimes. I was so confused in the beginning, but its coming together now. Our bodies do some weird things! Today was my b/w for HcG levels....BFN. : ( .........RE suggested that i do IUI the next cycle. I'm not sure tho...

Ms. Stone,

If you don't mind me asking, what was your testosterone reading? Did you do a TV ultrasound?

I only ask, because I have yet to be given an endometrial biopsy. Should I ask for one? What does it detect?

I was diagnosed with PCOS in Feb. I've always had excessive hair, but according to my physician and endocrinologist they said it wasn't hormone related. They decided that it was due to my middle-eastern background. I am not obese, but I am in the upper range of my BMI. Just about everyone in my family is on the heavy side, but no one else has PCOS. My mom has five kids and my sister has 1 so far. There is no history of difficulty getting pregnant in my fam.

When I went of BCP in Nov, my cycles got very long and I went to the OB-GYN. She originally thought I was pregnant, but then did an ultrasound that showed I had cysts. That's when she said I have PCOS and may not be able to have kids on my own. I'm still TTC. She said it's normal for people even without PCOS to try for up to a year without a pregnancy. If I haven't gotten preggers by new year's 2009, I'm going to ask for meds.
