I hope they don't make fools out of themselves like Tom Cruise did.

Well I guess since Tome Cruise came out, they need to, too. Hmm ... I think people should mind their own business and let others make their own decisions. I might add not judging others!

I myself think this is horrible. Being a person who suffers severe depression I dont know what I would do without medicine. I would probably be dead today. If anything doctors need to be careful of what medicines they prescribe sometimes. I believe they prescribe what is new and popualr or what the drug companies are giving them as samples. I believe adults, as wel as kids benfit from antidepressants. It sucks that based on their religion they feel the need to bash medicine used to help people.

I completely agree. As a person of faith, I'm glad we're blessed with the skills and intellect as a species to come up with these medications, because for some of us, myself included, they are literally life savers. Diet, exercise, etc. all helps, but not enough on their own to keep me sane.

With those 2 points in mind, I'm all for people doing the diet modification, exercise and supplement route first. If that doesn't work then the meds could be the last result. I think that way too many drs are prescription happy.

I agree that a lot of dr.'s just prescribe medicine to get people out of the hospital...they thought that I was depressed until they figured that my hormones were imbalanced and now that I am taking drugs to fix that I feel 100% better. But medicine has helped a lot of people out...What about schizophrenics that can't function without medicine...I don't think diet, exercise, and vitamins well help them out. I wonder how many of those children were also seeing a therapist on the side. I think the medicine is a good thing to help the hormones out but those kids also should have been seeing a therapist to sort their issues out as well. I don't think they should prescribe medicine without giving therapy on the side.
