My Mood: Points: 6,052.24 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 6,052.24 | Kiwi Suport Group? Hi All,
I was wondering if there is a support group in NZ or Auckland or if it would be good to set one up.
I have found I have to go through so much of this on my own and it would be great to meet with other people and maybe get and give some inspiration?
Its just so frustrating to have a syndrome that you cant discuss with friends as they just don't understand it!
Anywho, just a thought, if there seems to be a fair amount of interest then I think I will defo look into creating something whereby people can meet for coffee and a swap of ideas.
Or heck, even just a group of gals to go to the movies and not have to worry about your friends teasing you about not eating lollies!

A while ago they were looking for volunteers for a committee, newsletter etc. I would have liked to volunteered but I had too much on my plate. I might have another look and see if they're still looking.

I just had all my bloods redone and they appear not to have come back very good. The stupid doctor as usual wouldn't even discuss it with me, so I hope to get the results in the post today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

My Mood: Points: 6,052.24 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 6,052.24 | Your telling me, I swear its like the antarctic here at the moment!!! Thats fantastic that you got pregnant with PCOS, do you mind me asking i it took very long? I am currently trying to pre-emp difficulty conceiving by working on everything now as I assume sometime in the next 5 years (man with sperm permitting) I would like to have a baby :O)
I am studying at AUT so I only using the AUT doctors, and they aren't great surprise surprise. And just to highlight this, they only sent me half of my results in the post yesterday, being my cholesterol (which is high?? god knows how) and a pap test which came out with abnormal cells. So I called them today and said OYE! I wants my hormone tests which i specifically asked for *sighs* so they will send it out to me today.
Actually when I spoke to her today she said they were all ok, but then yesterday she said they were all high, so god knows what to think until I can see them, doctors huh?
Do you have a good doctor? I am kinda unsure as to what to do from here, weight lost, tick. Exercising, well... half tick. Eating well, tick. I will post what my hormone results are, but if they are all back on the normal range does that mean I no longer have PCOS???

Points: 2,866.42 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,866.42 | I was just asking cause I live close to the AUT (Infact I got my ultrasounds for bubs done at Horizon) and I go to a local doctor ($25 if PHO enrolled) he was VERY VERY helpful with PCOS and he diagnosed me straight away. He put me on Metformin and was open to a lot of things regarding PCOS. His office is filled with degrees and certificates and he has a very very nice bedside manner. It took us a year to concieve bubs although I've never used protection with my husband and we've been together 2 years.
Regarding the cholesterol results, it is known that people with PCOS will have higher cholesterol.
Just because your hormones are in the normal range I think it still means you have PCOS, as they say, once you're diagnosed with it its not something that will go away, you can just keep it under control with pills/diet/exercise and such.
If you would like to chat more just PM me and I'll give you my email address to chat on MSN. |

My Mood: Points: 6,052.24 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 6,052.24 | Well once again they have only sent me half of my results!! It only has the LH and FSH levels, not the testosterone and DHEA etc, ARGH!!!!!!
Ok, feck it, I will go in when I start back at uni as they know my name now so its getting a little embarrassing!
Anywho the levels are as follows:
LH = 2.2
FSH = 2.8
Hmmmm, now I just have to figure out what that means!
