Default Knots? in the V area! How to make them go away?

I have 3 really painful knots in the V area right now. They are so so so painful. Do any of you guys get them and if so what do you do to make them go away? I get these things sometimes and they can stay around for up to 4 weeks. I have had them checked by the Dr and have been told that they are normal but, I really need some info on how to treat them.

Please help!!!!!

Well I get them sometimes and they have to go away by themselves. I talked to my doc about it but she doesn't seem to care either. Hoping that someone can help us with that.

I though it was a form of Genital Herpes but I doubt that its that. But Sometimes it may happen due to pulling of long hair. It has reduced for me since I started keeping short hair down there. Sorry TMI

No it's not Herpes. The Dr checked it and said it was ok. But man it really hurts. I hope we can get some info on it as well. Maybe I need to get the scissors out

I know exactly what you are talking about. They are like pimple cyst like things and they are very painful! I sometimes get them around AF time a few times a year. My doctor told me that they are due to high androgen levels. I have heard people say that warm compresses on them helps them come to a head so they can pop. If they get really bad, I would go to the doctor. There are people on this board that have had them get infected. Someone also recommended tea trea oil. It is a natural antiseptic. Good luck, I feel your pain!

Thanks so much Rosie. I knew there had to be others in the world that get these things. I will have to try the warm compresses. But I do have a question about the Tea Tree Oil. Is it ok to put it on Cysts that are in the Vaginal area?? I think I know what you mean about them getting infected. I had one have that happen and it took forever to go away. I even have a scare from it.

Thanks again!!!

Aaahhh now I know what ya'll are talking about !!

I get those from having AF for too long and wipin and wipin and wipin .. almost like an ingrown hair thats gotten infected but its not its a giant, sore boil ! I have used hot compresses and also popped them while in a hot shower **aahh sorry TMI really**

Never used Tea Tree oil but it should be ok for 'down there' as long as you keep it on the outside

I"ve had those too... I just never knew they could be PCOS related! I like the warm compress to soften them option. Once the "pop" they quit hurting so much!

I've gotten those too... nice to know it's not just me! Usually, if I have easy access to it, I'll pop it, but sometimes they're in an awkward area or too hard to pop. I never asked anyone about them, I always just assumed they were ingrown hairs or something, but now that I think about it, I've had some in non-hairy areas...

On another subject.. isn't it great how we can all be so open with each other here? LOL!!!

Right now they are in the non-hairy area, so i'm thinking it would not be a good thing to be putting oil on them. That might make an even bigger mess. I don't need a bladder infection as well.

Thanks so much for being so open about this subject. I really do appreciate any info you can give!!!

Oh! So they are more on the inside of the labia? Youch!

We PCOSers do seem more prone to this kind of unfortunate thing, and I'm so sorry you're suffering. If it's on the inside I would see my doctor though, as there are other things it could be. The most common is something called a Bartholin Cyst. Here's a link on that:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/bartholin-cyst/DS00667

If you tend to get these often, check out the thread about "boils" not too far down from here. In that case it's important to see your doctor as it may be a skin disease called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I have this myself and a lovely huge one on the back of my thigh is why I'm awake and posting to you at 4am! So I do, literally, feel your pain.

Don't be afraid to see your doctor!

Thanks so much for your information. I actually have an appt with my OBGYN on Wed. for a check up on my Gloucophage. I'm planning on asking about these terrible things. I just want to know if there is anything I can do for them when I get them. I tried the warm compress and the warm bath. Nothing has helped so far. Now I have 4 of these lovely things. The only thing is is that I think I will start my period before I see him on Wed. So I'm not really sure he will want to look

I'm sick of these things!!!!

I get these occasionally, maybe once a year or so. I don't know what causes them or what they're called though. Usually I just pop them--painful and probably not the best solution, but it's the only thing I've found that makes mine go away!

I get them too and I was worried they were something bad,but everytime I asked the dr about them he didn't seem to concerned and said they went along with PCOS symptoms.
