Points: 374.59 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 374.59 | Lab Results...Newbie! Hello Everyone - I have been lurking around a little bit here for the last couple weeks. I have been dealing with symptoms of PCOS for about 4 years and have been to 3 different PCP's (mainly because we moved from PA to FL) and have recently been under the care of a OB/GYN, as I just gave birth to a baby girl in September of 2007. I went into unexplained, preterm labor at 30 weeks and my baby was in the NICU for almost one month.
I am so super frustrated as I just received a call this morning from the OB saying that all my labs were "normal" and I just do not feel that things are right. Can you take a look and tell me what you think???
(Background Note: I was on BC pills from age 15-22 - during this time I was thin and very active. I felt great. I was 120 lbs the entire time - no fluctuation. At age 22, I stopped taking the pill and gained 60 lbs within about 9 months. After giving birth this past year, I lost the baby weight and then gained back 25 lbs...something just isn't right.)
Anyway, here are my labs:
Glucose, Serum: 97mg range: 65-99
LH: 19.4 mIU/ml range: 0.0-76.3
FSH: 5.1 mIU range: 1.5-9.1
Total Cholesterol: 216
HDL: 55
LDL: 142
They did not test estradiol....Let me know if there are any other labs I can post...
Thanks for any help you can provide! |

Points: 374.59 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 374.59 | I was actually on CD31. The doctor (OB) did not instruct me to go on any certain day. Ughhh. Maybe I should try and contact a specialist??
I am really upset about my cholesterol, too....as I know I have about 50 lbs to lose, but no matter what I do - nothing! I lost all the weight from being pregnant and then gained 25 back in 4 months. |

I didn't like that so I went to see an RE and he told me there was no way my blood work was just "normal" and I have PCOS! So, he did more blood work! Blood work that my gyno didn't even do and come to find out, my free testerone level was high!! There was others as well that were off! I was dx the right way and givin the right meds and now Im sarisfied!! I would get a second opinion!! BTW, welcome to SC!!!

You may not have PCOS but you may have Hypothyroid. I would go see an Endocrinologist and have them do more BW. I also recommend a transvaginal ultrasound to rule out PCOS.
Good luck.
