Hey ladies i really need some info here, about two months ago i was put on Met and had my blood tested for hormone levels and such, I got a call back from the Dr. today and they said that my hormone levels are normal?? But they also said that something was elevated... not a hormone but something else and she then proceeded to tell me that i would have to wait until thw Dr. Was back from out of town to find out exactly what and if i need to be referred somewhere? This has me pretty scared. I think she said something about D or D14 something?? I am really not sure what it was she called the elevated result, does anyone have ANY idea of what this may be or what is going on?? Please any answers help.
I'm sorry I can't be too much of a help. I remember my Endocrinologist doing a test on something silmilar, but I can't remember what exactly (this was a few years ago). Was this your endocrinologist running the test?

No it was an OBGYN that works with infertility also ( not a specialist but the best that i can afford right now) It has me worried that i may never be able to have a baby and then it also has me worried that there might be something really wrong with me....
The first doc I went to see (a few years ago) to figure out what was going on with me thought that I had PCOS based on my symptoms. She ran lab tests and told me that my hormone levels were normal and that I might not have it after all. She referred me to an endocrenologist, who said I DID have it. He explained that some women have reactions to even the slightest change in hormone levels. My hormone levels were all within a normal range, but were at the higher end of normal. The hormone levels combined with the symptoms give your doc a clearer picture of what is going on. If I were you, I would talk to the doc when they get back to see what they say. If you are unsatisfied, get asecond opinion.

EXACTLY what I wanted to say!
When I was first tested my results were all normal, but I had an OB/GYN tell me that the range for normal was outrageously large.
Keep plugging along and try to a second opinion. Even when you find a doc willing to make the dx, they aren't always willing to TREAT things. It's maddening, but the way things are. Don't give up.

Totally agree! When/if the diagnosis is made be sure the dr is willing to work with you to treat your symptoms. I had a dr tell me once that there was "nothing she could do." Come to find out she was much more interested in her OB patients than GYN. Find a dr with a passion for helping us!

T4, T3? That would sound kinda like D14... I dunno. and maybe someone else can answer, are those thyroid levels or testosterone? Too many T words... Don't panic, hon. Just wait until you can get in for another appointment. If it was something urgent, they'd refer you to someone in town.
By the way, I was dx in 2002. And now my hormones are within the normal ranges, and really my symptoms are minimal at this point. But I guess I'll always have the label of PCOS and always be waiting for it to rear its ugly head sometime in the future.
