Default Lab Results Question?

Hi Ladies!!

I had posted several questions about my thyroid in June, and I have finally gotten my lab results from both doctors. I ended up going to my regular family physician and she has referred me on to yet another Endo., but the appointment isn't until the end of this month. So, I was just wondering if anyone could take a look at these results and give me their input?

All Labs were done through LabCorp

These are the results from the Endo I went to that said I just needed to lose weight:

Thyroxine (T4) Free, Direct, S T4, Free (Direct) 1.07 ng/dL The limits are 0.61-1.76.

TSH 1.103 uIU/mL THe limits are 0.350-5.500

Then a note states: Adult TSH concentrations below 5.5 uIU/mL do not rule out the presence of subclinical hypothyroidism.

** Ok, here are the results from my Gyno:

TSH 2.059 uIU/mL Limits: 0.350-5.500

Thyroxine (T4) 14.1 ug/dL Limits: 4.5-12.0

T3 Uptake 16% Limits: 24-39

Free Thyroxine Index 2.3 Limits: 1.2-4.9

The only thing I noticed is that the T4 has a different type of measurement, but other than that I can tell if its high, low, or within normal limits. Any insight you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

I am no expert, but I can tell you that from what I hear the dr's want you to be as close to 1.0 as posslbe for TSH. I was at 1.57 and symptomatic so I am being treated for hypothyroid even though it is within normal ranges.

Thanks for responding!! I am just looking for any clues as to what might possibly happen when I finally do see this next Endo. I just wish I could finally get everything straight in my body.
